So the other day me and my mother were at the dealership looking at a gti for my little brother. I got the chance to play around with the new touchscreen nav system and i really liked it. It was very simple and had nice features and i like the way i looks. So do you guys think it will fit from the little research I did it looks like the one from the touareg will fit.
Here is a write up about it i found on vortex. Here (http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?3647765)

I would be curious about this aswell to be honest. My mother has this in her Tiguan (SEL Premium with Dynaudio) and it's pretty neat. I wonder what needs to be done.

There's a distinct resemblance between the RNS 510 and Dynavin.

lol thats true, and the dynavin will for sure fit as well

I'd love it if we could get it to work. As nice as the RNS-E is, that 510 is lightyears ahead of it.

Ok so i have do a little more research. The touareg version will fit because it is a standard double din as apposed to the others which have a face plate that pops off and are screwed in. The wiring would just have to be transfered to the different plugs. The only thing that may not work is the cab-bus interface this radio works off of 2.0 which doesn't inter face with older versions. I dont know what version ours is but if it is 2.0 it should work.

and it was started yesterday?
it would definitely be cool if it works
but one thing that drives me nuts is that the volume knob has the power on/off logo so when you turn the knob the logo goes upside down and what not
drives me crazy in the GFs tiguan haha

Haha that annoyed me in a loaner B8 I had recently. I kept trying to see if I could just straighten out the power on/off logo without affecting the volume.

It is the same problem with the Symphony II+, I always use the steering wheel volume control to keep the logo the same position [:D]
On the topic would be nice if the 510 would work

Does Skoda use this HU in their B7-based car? That would be your best bet............ Our faceplate is is quadrilateral and those are square.

I think you mean Seat Exeo and not Skoda...

And I've seen people posting on Seat boards that they use the audiosources AS-8604. Maybe Google it a bit.

I have the new 2010+ RNS-E. Hit up Haagie on Audiforum.us. You won't like the price, but IMO it was worth every penny. SDHC cards, way better resolution, TMC and the song displays are much more robust. If you want to keep the factory look but have the newest functionality, it's the only way to go.

Make it WORKKKKK! I am sure with the right amount of $$$ someone could get it to work.

I'm having one of these imported from China:

Bluetooth, ipod, option TMC, etc. and supposedly it even displays info on the MFD like the stock units. If it works well I'm gonna see if theres any interest for a group buy here.

Awesome. Looking forward to it. The YouTube vids looked great but I'm curious of sound quality, steering wheel control implementation and DIS integration.

Sorry but that looks awful, almost like something you got from a 99 cents store for an Audi... Dosen't matter how cheap this is it looks horrible...

Don't know if I would say awful but certainly not all that great.
Reminds me of the stock unit :x

^ thats the point, it's supposed to look like the RNS-E. Obviously it doesn't look exact, but not sure how it looks awful.... The RNS510 would look more out of place in our dash, and it certainly looks a shit ton better than the pioneer unit i have now.
P.S. None of the RNS510's will fit our car (without modification), I already checked. None have the same shape faceplate.
