If you have all the build codes on a sheet in the owner's manual or from the sticker in the trunk you can use my excel sheet I found somewhere to find out EVERYTHING.

VINs have been known to be wrong, some VW GTI VINs pull them up as 337/20th anniversary models when they are clearly not, and I have heard of lots of others models reporting as wrong.

If you have your build sheet, go with that for best accuracy.

I didn't get the owner's manual with it. I need to remove the spare tire to see it? I looked at the lid of the spare tire cover and that it would be ridiculous to put it on something that could easily be lost or broken so I didn't look at the sticker on that very close.

OH MAN, not cool! I've talked to these people 3 times already and they have claimed over and over again that the car is 100% perfect and has never been in an accident! You can order a car exactly how you want it if you get the right dealer, just means waiting a while to receive it and it usually happens if you get it all selected right at the end of the previous model year while there are no next year on the showroom floor.

My 2007 has Premium package, defined as 17" split 5 spoke wheels, leather interior, heated front seats and power driver's seat and Symphony II+ stereo (non-bose)

It also has sport suspension, but no xenons or auto-dim rearview.

Anyway, still looking for a ride so if since were still doing this can't hurt to ask for another VIN check. FYI you should start charging for this! lol, after me of coarse.

Are you really that concerned about an accident hit on carfax? I know it sucks the dealer wouldn't give you any info but you should have tried to dig up more info if possible.

My Avant had an "Accident reported: Rear minor damage" on carfax, I checked into it, it was a minor rear end, cracked the bumper, it was checked over and the rear bumper cover was replaced. Not a deal breaker for me.

NO a minor accident isn't a deal breaker, what it did was allow me to have some sort of evidence and than the dealer kept refusing. After they did this I dug deep into the history of the dealership and found out they were nothing but scammers. That's why I said he saved me a boat load of time and frustration. The dealer was waiting until the last second and charging $2-3,000 dollar finance fees and other sorts of things.

However, VIN WAUDF78E68A077080, also doesn't show the accident that Sexican found on CarFax.

Guess, you can't trust running (1) report because I heard AutoCheck sometimes finds things that CarFax doesn't list.
