Well, they came for the S6... Those Carbon build-up demons got me... I thought I was safe using the best of gas and using the recommended Audi Fuel Cleaner [mad]

So my dealer tells me it's about a 12 hour job and they need car for at least 2 days [headbang]

Lucky for me it's covered under the warranty and I have a loaner car (2.0 T) [facepalm]

Please tell me it gets better from here...

So 4 days later the car actually drives better. The technicians really did peform the required carbon build up service. During the test drive they said the car was sluggish. They first applied the additive and test drove for 60 miles and let the car sit overnight. They performed a compression test (175 psi) on all cylinders. They also performed a leak down and found cylinder leakages coming from the intake system. They removed the IM and found a significant amount of carbon buildup on all valves. They cleaned all the intake ports and intake manifold ports, removed all injectors and cleaner inthe injector tips, they then resealed the injectors.

Is there anything that you guys do to help fight the carbon build up? Apparently it really doesn"t matter what kind of gas is being used.

Not much you can do. Outside of physically clean them off. There are some RS4 owners installing catch cans and stuff, but the problem still exist. Do a search in the RS4 Forum, lots of info there.
