Thinking about selling my car.....

Anybody have any recommendations about selling my car for the most $, it's fairly customized...thinking Auto Trader or Carmax??? Still under original CPO warranty, which is transferrable, until 11/11.

you'll get the most money returning as much as you can to stock. Mods dont really gain you anything. If anything they lower the value of the car.

Why don't you post in the Audizine classifieds, too. A lot of people here don't mind the mods as long as the car is clean and was taken care of.

Classifieds would prob be your best bet. You'll have enthusiasts looking at it who may appreciate some of the mods. Modded cars don't fare as well on the used car sites.

Actually, I think you should post it on the classifieds first before you return it to stock and see if you can get good offers. If that doesn't work then you know what you need to do.

CPO is NOT transferable unless you purchased the car with a CPO before August of 2006 (pretty sure of date), just an FYI.

I agree with everyone else. The audizine classifieds are your best bet. People will always be skeptical to buy a modded car. Although it seems a little ironic from what I've seen on Audizine averyone who mods it take great care of them. Carmax might not even take it with some of the mods, and even without them they won't give you as much. Good luck!

Try autotrader and also the various audi forums while it's modded, but also think about selling off items like wheels and stuff seperatly to get most cash out. The CPO is not transferable as mentioned above. When it comes time for trade in, then mods are worthless to dealers so abck to stock will be best in that case.

^^^ this. I ordered a q5. Should be here around august. I'm parting out my car for the extra loot. Honestly you'll do better parting out. It sucks because sometimes you get lazy but it will pay off.

Thanks for all the replies!!! For some reason, the replies were not being sent to me via email...The CPO is transferrable, I used to work at Audi and it was CPO'ed before they changed the guidelines. The car is now posted in the classifieds, I am going to give that a shot first. There are a few factory things that I still have that could be traded out. I would like to get low $20's for the car as is...I received an offer from a small local dealer in the $19,000 range...haven't bothered with Carmax or Autotrader yet. I absolutely love my car and all the mods that I did to it, I would like a little larger car, perhaps a B8 S4, 535 or E550. Really want a forced induction 6 cylinder.

Carmax won't take a modified car, and will give you a terrible price. Start parting out, then try here and autotrader. Some basic mods will help the value here, like coilovers and wheels and such, anything more you won't get your money back for.
