Soooo, I got the kmd fuel pump (internals) and installed it a couple days later when my tuner said he could flash the car to stg2+. He ended up having to reschedule me for the next week. After a couple of days (not really driving it) it started to run quite rich and pop (backfire) upon deceleration. I figured it was due to the pump providing that extra fuel! Then the engine light came on and starts became quite rough. I checked the code and as I thought it was a code for bank one running rich. I cleared out the code and all was fine for a bit but it started acting up. The next day I cleared the code and the problem came back almost immediately. I stopped driving it until the tune got done, I explained the problem to my tuner and he agreed that it was most likely due to the pump. After the tune it had almost the same exact problems, almost a little worse because now it was "popping" whilst driving on the highway... Anyone have any ideas or experiencing this problem themselves?[confused]

Are you throwing any codes now?
Could it be misfiring?

could it have ruined the plugs during that time?

It isn't misfiring and it just feels weak as shit like when my dv went except I'm holding boost and I haven't thrown any codes yet

I had my tune done before I installed the pump I dont have the backfiring problem but I think I am not boosting what I am supposed to the most I have seen is 17psi unitronic says it is suppose to be 20psi but i have not seen it yet installed a catch can and fmic to see if it is the pvc or a boost leak are you boosting what the tune says you should

Leak maybe of some sort? Check the lines like the boost gauge hose if you have one.

Idk I'm just throwing ideas out there now lol anything might help

Start with checking your plugs and then do a leak check. It is always best to do the basic test first. This will tell you if you have a damaged plug or a boost leak. If one of the plugs has gone bad then you would be dumping alot of unused fuel into your exhaust.

True, I'm waiting on a tire now so I can't drive it, but I'm pretty sure I'm boosting around 20psi still, also boost is holding steady, I will pull the plugs today and check them along with some other things. I'm not misfiring so I think that the plugs should be fine. I hope it's something minuscule! Wish me luck

I wish you luck, keep us in the loop.

Pulled the plugs and they look clean. I'm starting to think my intake manifold gasket might be the issue, I took my chance and reused it when I did the injectors, when I took them out it looked fine but I think I will spray the manifold tomm to check for leaks. Currently Its not drivable because I blew out a brand new tire, the shop never cleaned the mounting surface on the rim and it was slowly leaking down, I noticed a bubble and called them up, it was too late cuz the tire was already fawkd! Misses is going in tomorrow to get the new tire, hopefully comped or at a
Discount... Lol

check oil level? Is it higher--if so could be gasoline? Maybe fuel pump seals?

Wait! let me get this straight... you installed the KMD internals AND installed the RS4 injectors on a stg1 tune???? If that is correct then the RS4 injectors are your problem... You cant use them even on a stg2+ tune on a K03 turbo........

No no no lol when I first got the rs4 injectors I was misinformed that I could run them on a
Stg2 tune, so input them in, then realized I made a
Mistake and took them out!

So I wrote some different settings on the sps, then I took off. Before I got out of the complex I got a p0172 (bank 1 too rich) or something. I cleared out the code and set the ecu to 9-5-9, I must say it ran Alot better and after a couple hours of driving the code had not set again. So far so good

Engine light popped up again... P0172 now I know that something is probably bad, just need to start narrowing it down... Urgh!!

Might have a boost leak?

Pulled a p0171 today and under boost(anything above 1psi) the normal sucking noises the turbo makes seem to sound like a cricket chirping as its a fast paced. Chirpy noise ... I have a feeling its my intake manifold gasket. It still holds boost and feels strong.... Really strong. So a system too rich and a system too lean... If it's not my manifold then I will also check my MAF out as well
Hopefully having that pump on for a few days before getting flashed didn't cook my injectors??

What dv do you have the only time I have heard chirpping from a turbo is when the dv is not working correctly

cnt remember if you have a pcv solution or the oem pcv.....but when my pcv went south it made a very obnoxious whine at vacumn .....dealer gave me a new pcv fo free but im pretty sure i blew that one now too....:-(

I have the revision d dv installed. Also have my PCV deleted, running a catch can. I could see how the dv would make that noise, cutting on and off. I really just want to throw that bt on already lol but I figure it's best to sort out these small problems before they become large ones!

[rolleyes]Well I think I found my issue, found one of the lower intake nuts fairly loose! I was able to put it on another turn or so. Ill have to drive it a bit to see if that solves it

^Glad you found it.
I was about to say NO to kmd internals & go with an APR Rebuild haha.

APR Rebuild is just double the price, so does that mean double the fun?haha.

DRAKLORE

Nah I wouldn't blame this on kmd, nothing against Apr but they seem to spend Alot of money on r&d and come out with bullet proof hardware and software, only it's reflected in the price... Most of the time it's worth it... Most of the time [;)]

Id have to say though im glad I DO have the APR pump as it's one less thing I have to worry about breaking....Lol

Btw don't feel bad I forgot to tighten that one intake manifold bolt completely... But mine wasconsidered a boost leak....
