View Full Version : REVO 93 Stage 1, crazy issue!

Over the last few weeks I've had an issue (twice) (and now three times) where when I pedal down at around 35-50mph, my A4 will go, then act like its hitting the rev-limiter and throw CRAZY AMOUNTS of gray smoke. It doesn't up-shift until I lift the pedal. If I do this from a dead stop it acts like normal.

Yesterday, as I was accelerating up the on-ramp to the expressway the same thing happened for the third time. I figure now I know this is not just a random even. I don't beat on the car often as you can tell by the amount of time between events.

I really feel like its the software as I had to take it to the Audi dealership for an issue and had the shop deactivate the program before I took it in. Afterward it acted fine, and the problem didn't occur until I had the program turned back on.

Anyone else have anything like this? Or any idea WTF it is?

Is this what limp mode acts like? The white smoke seems odd though.

Sounds like its burning oil. You should check your Cam follower, and replace the PCV valve. It would also be good to scan your ECU for any code that maybe present. I have Revo 93 stg1 file for a little over a year now and have not experienced this problem, my car does blow some black smoke at higher rpm once in a while due to rich burning conditions.

i mean take this graph with grain of salt considering they show you only the stage 3 apr but the 'fuel cut' begins around 3500rpm for stage 3, adjust it slightly for your stage 1 mod and you may be experiencing a fuel cut.....not 100% that it is the reason why there is crazy amounts of grey smoke coming but its something to consider
