So I showed the car to a friend. And he said the car most likely previously in an accident. Lots of little imperfections that leads me to believe it was in an accident. I will post pictures tomorrow. One obvious one is the rear valance. It's black, when s-lines are suppose to be color matched. Hmmmmm. I'm very disappointed. Can I still take this back to the dealer and get my down payment back and out of the contract???? It is not a CPO and it wasn't bought at an audi dealer.
Epic Fail.

Damn, that sucks. I had the same problem. I bought mine on a sunny day. A few days later when it was cloudy, I noticed the color difference on my bumpers. Was too late for me though. But nice car!
And welcome to the forums.

You cant return it once you drive off the lot, after papers are signed, you are the owner. No Cooling Off Period is what its called. Get the Car Fax on it. If the car had been in an accident i believe they are supposed to disclose that to you...
BAudi8
05-11-2011, 09:29 AM
In California, when a customer purchases or leases a new motor vehicle, there is no “cooling off period” rule. What this means is just because you may think that (after signing and taking delivery) that it’s not the right vehicle for you, your payments are too high, or other various reasons that the sale/lease can be cancelled – it cannot. The moment you complete the sale/lease documents and take physical delivery of the car (drive off the lot), there is no “cooling off” period in which to return the vehicle and rescind the sale. At this point it is yours.
Now I was talking to a friend who is a Desk Manager and at Dealership he told me that if its minor body damage they dont have to disclose it. However if its anything major, like frame damage, they must disclose it to you.

Ok guys. Thanks for all the warm welcomes. Here is an update. I took the car back with all the complaints and they're going to out the car back to factory. They didn't admit to an accident but they did take it to the their body shop and are going to fix everything plus they're giving me an extended warranty. I'm happy with that. Here are some pics of the evidence that repairs were done/collision damage.

There were other things in that passenger side liken ding coming off and places where bondo was used.
Most of this damage/repairs were in the passenger side which leads me to believe it was side swiped or swiped a wall or something. Let me know what you think.
Thanks again.

Def looks like is was atleast hit on the pass side. Sorry that sucks. If it shows on the car fax that it has been in an accident then the dealer knew about it. Which means they needed to tell you before they sold you the car.

It's through Toyota. But they said they'll use all Audi parts if it needs replacing. The tire has chunks of tire tipped out. That doesn't happened with curb rash. Something had to have hit it hard to take chunks out of the tire.

How come nobody is stating what appears to be a really shitty car the op purchased.
sorry cestjoel, you got a really bad car. The dealer is going through some steps to make you happy but there is no way in hell that they are going to put in the kind of money to make that car whole again. It looks like a salvaged title car. I'm not saying that it is but have you even seen the title?
I would do as much research as poossible, hire a professional neutral body shop to inspect the car and find out what the previous accident was.
Do you mind disclosing the price that you paid and where you got the car from? It'll give us a better picture of what you're up against. Also, post where you saw the ad.

yea... don't feel bad. i had an oil leak that was not covered by the warranty toyota sold me. when the finance dude sold it to me he said everything that doesn't wear is covered bumper to bumper... so when I get denied by the warranty company (which I cant remember the name of... ABC or something like that) I went to the Toyota dealer to raise hell with them for lying to me when they sold me the warranty.
the same finance dude told me there was nothing that could be done, so I asked to speak to his manager (who I met when I purchased) and he told me he was not available that "he is on the phone with a bank." At that point I was fed up and stormed to the managers office who immediately said "gotta go Honey" and hung up the phone! So I told him his person who sold me the warranty is a fu**ing liar! That they deliberately lied to my face to misleadingly sell me the warranty and it was unacceptable. then and there he said they would take care of the $1700 bill from Commonwealth Audi.
I was just pissed cuz the oil leak was first misdiagnosed by an independent shop as valve covers, when it was really cam seals. so i paid for the valve covers and ended up still having a leak shortly thereafter. and I was not about to pay $1800 for repairs on my car in the first 6 months of ownership.
I was initially fed up with my car and wanted out... badly. I looked for so many ways but at one point I just told myself hey maybe next time I'll get the deal right. so keep fighting for all you can if to get fixed if returning it is not an option. they technically sold you something you didn't pay for (crashed car) ** I ended up keeping my car for 6 years! and I'm glad I did.

Ok, so here is an update. I went to pick up the car today after they did all the "repairs" and I ended up returning the car. They didn't do anything to the car! The bumper was never repainted or fitted perfectly. They tried to fix the hanging door and left even bigger gaps! The sideskirt was actually loose and falling off. The rear valence was painted but not matched well. It was an even worse repair job. I got into an argument with them and decided to turn in the car back. I got my full down payment back also.
Now I'm carless, Audi-less.
I'm gonna go car shopping again on Monday. Hopefully I have better luck.

Hey cestjoel, Welcome to the community.
The Titanium package is another cosmetic trim package available. It has different things such as black moldings around the windows and grill instead of chrome as most A4 have. Its preferred by a lot of members here because, it is more aggressive looking, not near as commonly seen (though its not what you would call rare by any means), and the normal chrome molding is susceptible to a weird oxidation/staining from some harsh car wash soaps.
I really recommend you get a B7 with quattro as you wont have a CVT Trans (CVT=Crap IMHO). Also if i did my B7 A4 time again, i would get a 6MT and not the TIP. Do a lot of research on different car selling sights to learn to see what is a good deal and when there trying to take you for a ride. (id also buy your friend a 30 rack for spotting all the issues with the first car, and bring him with you when you go to get your next one.) Im relatively close to you, so if theirs a car down here in San Diego that you think might be the one, ill go check it out for you and let ya know if its even worth the drive. PM me if you need.
From here I recommend that you give this a read. The B7A4 'New Member Guide' v2 *READ FIRST* (http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/267071-The-B7A4-New-Member-Guide-v2-*READ-FIRST*)
Have fun with your new car.

shop for a CPO. it's like getting a new Audi imo! you get a 100K warranty from the factory... usually leases come back with about 35k on the odo, leaving you with LOTS on that 100k Audi CPO Warranty. it has got to be the way to go. ^^This, plus look at the classifieds here on AZ, because there's probably an even better chance that the car was taken care of and maintained.
