Hey guys. I've done countless hours of research and I can't find a picture of the Avant Garde M 310 19 inch Wheel Set [Wheel Finish:Gunmetal w/ Machined Face][Centerbore:57.1mm][Size:19x8.5][ET:35mm][Size:19x9.5][ET:40mm][Tire Package:Hankook Ventus V12 EVO K110][Size:235/35/19 Front, 245/35/19 Rear]
I ordered these wheels and It'll be another 2 weeks or so until I get them but I'd just like to see if anyone else is running this set up. From what I hear; they are strong wheels (Low Pressure Cast). Originally I was gonna go with VMR's but I didn't feel like waiting months for them. I was drawn to the avant garde's when I saw that they are in gunmetal with the machined face cus I believe they they will hide the brake dust a Lil better. Hypersilver looks awesome but I imagine they would need to be cleaned more. I'm pretty sure these are more concave than the VMR 710's from what I can see in the pictures. Here's a few pics offhe wheels and a couple cars that are rocking them.
First of all: The car they are going on.

These are the wheels:

And a few pictures of the wheels of different cars (I can't find any on a b7)

Theyre just like the VMR 710s. Look those up. Those wheels are pretty common as many companies make replicas/same look ones.
Edit: sorry, didn't really read too much of ur post until now. lols

theyre literally identical to the vmrs. you should have an idea.

I haven't seen any VMR's with the gunmetal accent and machine face fronts. Honestly.... This is kinda kewl. I may actually have some wheels that not many have seen on a b7. I know they they are very similar to the VMR 710's, but they are not VMR's. I've also heard they the VMR's are gravity cast vs the low pressure cast that these are. So these shouldn't bend to easy.
I went with the 8.5" fronts and 9.5" rears so they should fill in the wheel wells nicely.

i think a black wheel with a machined face should be leaved to the hispanics.... That look is hideous

So you have nothing helpful or useful to say, so you just decided it would be best to just say something that is negative, prejudice, and offensive instead huh? Thanks for the contribution. Hope I can shit on your parade someday as well.
I was not asking for opinions on whether or not YOU like the way they look. I was asking if anyone had ran them on a b7.

I like the black w/ machined look, I think it will be a nice change to see these
instead of the usual hyper silver or matte black VMRs. I like the fact that you went
staggered too [up]!
"leaved" Lol.

These look great. I really like the depth that the two-tone paint gives these wheels.
My VMR only opinion might of 'leaved' me. Time to decide, I've got just a few weeks left.
Also, can you please weigh these wheels when you get them. I figure on 27lbs for the 19x8.5

05-06-2011, 09:32 AM
Thanks Chase! Lol
I really like how they just look like they were just cut out of a block of steel or something with that gunmetal back ground. Plus the gunmetal will go better with the grey of my Cupra lip and grill.
I bought these in a wheel and tire package so they will already be mounted and balanced and ready to go on the car so I will weigh them but it will be with the tires on them. They are listed at 26-27 lbs on PYSpeed.com I believe.
I had to go with the staggered setup. Looks to good not to. Lol

05-06-2011, 09:51 AM
Yeah, staggered for sure!
Honestly, you got potential, and being different at the same time.
I'd go for it

I already bought them. Just waiting on them to arrive. Eric at PYSpeed.com said they will ship out to me next week. Sucks spending all of that money and having nothing to show for it... Yet.

This is where I ordered them from.
http://www.pyspeed.com/Avant-Garde-Audi-Type-310-19-inch-Wheel-Set-p/avg-310-audi.htm
I got Hankook Ventus V12 K110 tires (235/35/19 front, and 245/35/19 rear) with the package.
Everything said and done: $1,819 shipped to my door, they were on sale and I found a coupon for free shipping.

Sounds like I should have spoken to who ever you talked to! Damn. And here I thought I was getting a good deal. Oh well. Too late now. I'm still waiting on them. Hopefully I get them with in another week or so. I'll be sure to post pics.

Btw; I ended up going with 265/30's for the rear. Phil had 265's on his car at one point and said he had no rubbing and I wanted as much rubber as I could get to protect the wheels from our mn roads so I'm gonna give those a shot since I'm not to low. Plus everybody is doing the "stretch" look and this will be more of a "muscle" kind of look. Which suits me better anyways.

My preference was 275/30 in the rear, as it lowered the rolling diameter difference to .07%, and I wanted to go the safest route possible. But 265/30 is still under 3%. Looking forward to more B. R. pics!!!!!
RAudiB7A4
05-25-2011, 07:20 AM
Yeah I was to nervous about 275's. To massive. I figured I would have more rubbing/fitment issues. 265's are 1.7% I believe. So I'm still within tolerance. Should be ok.

I know how u feel.. It's been almost a month since I ordered my wheels and they're still not here.. It didn't bother me the first 3 weeks, but shit... I'm starting to get anxious...

sorry, but you would be hard pressed to find hispanics with a nice automotive style in Colorado..... and yes this machined face on a black wheel is what 80% of them run..... I get sick of seeing tasteless cars trying to race around my town.... I'm not descriminating, it's just a simple observation when I see who gets out of these things....
And that is not directed towards the OP's car. I admire what he did with that meaty of a tire on the B7 platform and going for performance over stretch
And I grew up in CA.... Just went to school out here in CO

Yes, some cars look awful but to the owner its their style. Automotive style is subjective.

Maybe not discriminating but definitely stereotyping a race. [rolleyes]
