So what do all of you use to re-adhere your rings after painting and such?
i used 3m double sided tape, which holds great! but its super thick and i just hate the rings sticking out and really being able to see the tape
i also inquired about 3m liquid adhesive with a guy at home depot, but he informed me that it may be so strong that if i chose to take them off again, if wud bring paint with it....

Suggestions?

think ur missing the point haha....
i have rings...thats not the issue. nor do i want to buy new ones just because the tape is better..

just want to know what people actually USE to reapply them without creating a thick layer beneath them

reaaalllly? shit ok. i will have to further explore next time. unfortunately Home Depot and Lowes both only had the thick stuff i bought. i will have to look around.

Phil: have u experimented with some sort of liquid or goo type adhesive?

3M emblem adhesive duhhh aha don't deal with tape that could prove annoying.

BTW I plasti-dipped my rings so I could get the paint off without taking the rings off again.

My friends did that when blacking out there rings, used the 3m adhesive. Works like a charm and doesn't stick out at all

I don't understand anyone debadging an Audi. I can understand a Honda or like a Toyota. But I mean an Audi? Would you debadge a ferrari?

I ordered a set of black rings but I won't be able to put them on until I get home. I plan on removing everything and then using 3m adhesive and the sticky tape on the back to get them on.

Debadging the 2.0t and a4 makes sense to me, not the rings. Don't use tape, seems like a pita to cut how u want it, maybe not though.

Lol 1 you wasted money if you didn't get them with 3m adhesive on the back already, and 2 you should have just painted them black yourself - my .02

Just tell me you didn't paint them black? Black on black, you might as well leave them debadged lol. Well-designed rear deserves debadging [;)]

I'll be coming back to this thread when I need to put them back on though lol, as what I used last time (I blacked them out, too) didn't come off as easily for re-debadging.
