All you SoCal Audi guys, where do you go for service? I have some spendy services coming up and I've always gone to Santa Monica Audi. I'm seeking out my options and wondering if there are any independent shops that will do just as good or better job for less $$

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance..

Moved to Socal section. You'll get a lot more help there

I would personally recommend Mike @ Canyonracermotorsports ( www.canyonracermotorsports.com )
Tons of AZ members love Mike, he knows his stuff!

I would strongly recommend a Bentley manual and a Snap-On truck.

Euro-Tech Motors is in Culver City so it's very close to where you've been going. The owner is one of the top rated Audi/Porsche techs in the country and I've never been to a place with better quality service (for the customer and the car). Quality work for these cars is not cheap and you should never skimp out on service for your car but Euro-Tech should be a little cheaper than the dealers and the quality of work will be much better.

I have not used them myself but I've seen the performance work Raven Motorsports has done and they are good people there too so they should be worth trying out if you want another option.

there are a lot of great mechanics listed in the thread Matt posted

... everyone is using the same, say 5 or so shops.

........ BUUUUT while we're at it, RavenMS is in the lead imo with customer satisfaction.

I agree, Jose is a great guy. Had a bad experience with them though. Just got my alternator replaced after trying/failing at doing it myself. Bought/brought one that was taken off another 2001 ATQ motor for them to install. Got a call, they said it's not the same. Minor argument, finally I agreed to just have them source another used one and throw it on at which point the guy on the phone (not Jose) told me "Okay, car's ready. Come pick it up" essentially meaning they installed it before I ever okayed it.

Asked for the old alternator back, compared with the one I bought... same part number. It's just not worth my time to go bitch at them.
