View Full Version : Test drive two A3s today

03-24-2005, 01:56 PM

Well actually I have one at my house for this week, cause they couldnt fix my A4 at the dealer and they lend me this A3, the one that I have is

A3 basic
No xenon
No Bose
2.0 FSI
150 hp
3 doors

It is a nice car, but it is a little bit slow, like 8.7 from 0 to 62,
Well Im going to be driving this car for a hole week, so Im going to make a review of it, Im going to take some night pics today and more day pics tomorrow and on the weekend.

Second test drive
The people that works with me that make reviews on the newspapers lend me the other A3

This was

Sportback 2.0 T with all the ammenities
Xenon, leather interior, ESP, Bose, 5 doors, DSG, DSG controls on the steering like F1, pretty nice car

0 to 62 in 7.0 seconds, great handling, good stereo, nice rims, etc.

the sad thing is that I coulnt take pics of the car [headbang] , but they are going to call me from the dealer next week to test drive another sportback and Im going to take some pics for you

I enjoy a lot driving this car and it is faster than my A4

Im considering to buy this car in a near future, cause maybe first I have to purchase a Murano for my Wife and Baby

Hope you like this

03-25-2005, 01:22 PM

dont know yet, cause Im going to buy a new car in april [:D] , but right now I dont know if buy a Murano for my wife [=(] and sell her volvo, or buy an a3 2.0 T [race] and sell my car, my baby is going to born in 5 weeks [confused], so maybe the Murano is a better choice for the family

Whats the sticker price for the base a3 and one with all the options(2.0t)?

03-27-2005, 06:50 PM
Official prices still not released for us here in the States. Should be announced soon.

Not so crazy about the steering wheel

03-27-2005, 09:59 PM
Wait you are in Mexico, A3 US models won't bring 150hp, only 2.0t with 200hp and later on the 3.2 V6.

03-27-2005, 10:02 PM
damn.. they look nice, im seriously thinking trading in my avant for a 2.0T Quattro Dsg or manual...

im guessing they are going to take some very nice power out of the 2.0t...im thinking maybe 290-300 on bolt ons.. chip, exhaust, downpipe, intake, intercooer, pulleys...

03-28-2005, 08:49 AM
Here in Mexico the a3 2.0T only comes with DSG, not manual, but the car handles great. here the prices are for a

2.0 $27,000

and 2.0T with all the equipment is $33,000 of course the prices here are bigger than US

With the MTM chip the car is 245 hps 6.2 0 to 62 mph

By the way this car let me down on Saturday, The car stopped working on the street and they are checking the car at the dealear right now. So it is better that you receive the second year there

Nice car!

I still think the R32 is nicer looking and has the V6 in it now.

Sportback? Anything and everything! Especualliy if it has open sky and roof rails, take some detailed pics. Perhaps some wheel shots, ride height/side shots, etc.

Sorry to tell you this, but we are going to have to wait a coupple of weeks, they call me to let me know that they have to send the car to Mexico City at night, so they told me that in two weeks they can do it, but if I go to the dealer on saturday Im going to take all the pics for you

Yes it is a sportback but here in mexico we dont have the sportback with open sky or sunroof, just the 3 doors

I will keep you posted
