Just wanted to share with my fellow Audi supporters some pictures and information about the car that my buddies and I will be racing in our first "Chump Car" event this weekend at PIR. There are two races, 7 hours each, on Saturday and Sunday.

The whole premise of the series is to build a racecar valued at $500 or less (not including safety equipment like cage, brakes, wheels, tires, etc.) Two years ago, we bought a 1989 Toyota MR2 Supercharged (factory). FINALLY we'll be racing it for the first time this coming weekend.

Our team name is "Crapst Blue Ribbon Racing". Theme is important for these events and we still have some work to do in this area, but our car is basically littered in riveted PBR cans, all consumed while working on the car.

I made a FB page for the team last week, so follow us this week and this weekend for pictures and updates! Better yet, come out and watch the race if youre from the NW. Come by our tent and let me know youre a fellow audi guy!

hope you have fun. chumpcar is a fucking joke. they run a couple races a year at the local track up here (BIR). last summer i rode around in a fully track prepped E36 M3 that was putting down low 1:57 lap times with a bmw club instructor driving.

there were "$500" cars putting down 1:53s. complete fucking joke.

Sounds like a blast - I enjoy reading about the chump car and 24 hrs of Lemons as there are many very creative ideas people come up with. Hoping to do this with a couple friends at some point - great cheap way to get out racing!
