ok so i went to pull my air box out and to pull my maf plug and one wire is out and loose. now do i pull that pin and fix the wire in that connector. thanks

ok called audi and they have the lead with a 18 inch wire allready hooked to it just need to cut it down and splice into the wire thats there.

Be sure to solder it. Those are especially small wires.

it is allready crimped in the new metal lead that goes into the maf plug so no need for solder. or are you talking about when i splice the 2 together?

well i dont have a soldering iron so i was just going to use a small butt connector do you think that would be fine?

i would solder it. you can get the tools needed to solder it for cheap. it will be worth it in the end, trust me.

Ahh, no. It needs to be soldered for sure. And use some shrink tubing to protect it. This is not something that you want a sketchy connection on.

I have one of these butane soldering irons (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_SPM2380589602P?sid=IDx20101019x00001 a&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=SPM2380589602). Great for the garage cause you don't need to plug it in. Heats up fast too! $25.
