Hey guys. So im replacing my valve cover gasket and spark plugs very soon. I am having that rough cold start on my car. Im hoping this will fix it but as I was searching I saw that the PCV might need replacement. Is there anyone that could maybe help me with this if so? Also does anyone have vag com and would know how to do b6 to b7 key. I already screwed up one key....... Anyways thanks for your help.

Just added a new Audi to our family! Picked up a Phantom Black 2012 Audi Q5 2.0T Premium Plus with smart key and Audi MMI Navigation Plus today to replace our aging SUV.

As always Lasher treated me right and gave me a great deal on the car. Cheers to Josh and Mike for making this deal happen, two really good guys.

@ EN1GMA. Im in elk grove. I would take it down if I felt comfortable driving it but I'm having some other issues at hand with the car as it comes down to driving it, just looking to get her to pass smog.

Infinkc I might be able to work something with that, I was wondering about that actually. Just need her to pass smog like I said but then again I would like to actually fix the issue instead of mask it up.

Anybody also know of a good diag guy who's good with vag?

Well that was a fun time.. Was sitting at a stop light on Elk Grove and Auto Center going west and a Motorcyclist tagged my mirror lane splitting his way to the front. I speed up get around traffic and start high beaming the bike and he pulls over. Saw a motorcycle cop was ahead with his lights on, there isn't much of a shoulder on EGB so we pulled in to a strip mall.

Luckily no damage to the mirror, functions properly and has no marks at all on it. The guy says he didn't feel anything, but I heard it and usually you feel everything on a bike. Cop that was ahead of us has now swung around and pulled behind us I see him reciting our plates in to his mic and then another cop shows up, really? It's that slow of a day in EG that 2 cops have to show up for something that amounted to no incident?

I explained to the cop what happened he walked over and inspected/eyeballed my car and told the bike guy to be more careful.

Could have been worse, but I was appreciative that the motorcyclist pulled over. I had no way of knowing there was no damage, and I was skeptical I could get him to pull over at first. Lane splitting should be illegal here just as it is in the majority of states. It was put in to place when bikes would overheat sitting in traffic, that is no longer relevant.

Anyhow, /rant I'm done, lol.

Update on the car once again. I had a couple of codes stored that I hadn't previously had so this morning on my way out to class I cleared the codes and ran it to see which would come back for sure. The only code I have now is again the 16502. Every time that I look into 16502, and Infinkc might be more of help to me cause of the b5, but it goes into replacement of the coolant temp sensor. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/16502/P0118/000280 is the page on the dtc. I feel like I'm really over thinking this issue but on the other hand with the replacement of the sensor and the connector, what other things could relate into it?

Sorry for blowing up the thread about my issues hah.

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to say what's up and show some love to my fellow Sac Area Audi owners. I have had my '08 Dolphin Gray A4 3.2 Quattro for about a year now and I have loved it every second of it. The car is still stock reason being that the better part of that year of ownership has been spent saving for and planning a wedding. Now that I have the wedding in my rear view, hopefully I can start getting some mods (well of what there is to choose from for the 3.2 [wrench]).

Yeah it was as B8. At least I think it was, I kinda gave it a quick glance and then ran inside because I was already late......Well, I was supposed to be in at 7am...got in a 720am......but I signed in saying I got in at 7am. Awww yeeeah. Lol. I'll give it a look when we're out for break.

EDIT: Yep that B8 A4 is owned by an Asian chick. 20 min break and were both sitting in our cars.

Waiting for Lasher to call me back, my S4 stalled itself in my driveway. No warning lights or anything, the car just lunged a bit and then stalled the engine. Almost felt like when you stall a car in a manual transmission but my car is DSG.

Anyone know if 500-600 is normal idle RPM for a B8 S4? It seems low to me, but I noticed this morning that's what it was at when I was at a stop.

Ah the quirks of German cars.. lol.

Everything seems ok except the low idle RPM, it hasn't stalled again, no warning lights or check engine lights. Figure I'll get it in the dealer to take a peek, though something tells me they'll find nothing.

That's good that it hasn't stalled again. But, the low idle is a bit weird. Dealer should be able to clear it up the mystery. Still under warranty?

It's a 2012 so yup still has plenty of Warranty. Dealer said if it happens again or I notice more oddities to call and get it checked out. 700 is normal idle for my car they said.

With no lights or warnings I doubt it triggered a fault, hopefully its just a fluke thing and not the start of something. Basically they said to just keep an eye on the car, heh

Weird, that happened to me one day. My car is a manual, but I was just cruising at like 5 mph in 1st gear. No warning lights or anything. It hasn't happened since. Others have had the same experience too. Sucks having it in the back of your head though.

After being very skeptical about the renderings of the facelift, I've grown to like them after seeing modded facelifted cars on here.

I ordered a 2013 Daytona Gray S5 today. Specs are Black leather/Lunar Silver alcantara, Audi MMI Navigation plus Package, B&O, Advanced key, Carbon Fiber inlays

Last, but not least........S-Tronic. I'm moving to S-Tronic so the Mrs. and others can drive my car without a problem. It hurts me to watch others drive my manual S5 poorly. I also like the s-tronic transmission, not more than a manual, but the double clutch is intriguing.

I'm going to miss the V8 exhaust note, but the tunability of the 3.0T should make up for it.

I'll be parting out my current S5 starting at the beginning of the year. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...5-Build-Thread

Maybe we should have another meetup before the weather goes south on us?

The parking lot we were at the last time seemed to work, BJ's is nearby if we want food/beverage. It also looks like there is a burger place that will allow us to stage behind their establishment for a meetup.

Who's game, and what weekends work for you all? My schedule is fairly clear on Saturdays with 11/17 being the only exception. Maybe we can get ActivS5 out there so we can have one last look at his ride before he parts it out/trades it in [:p]

I figure this weekend would be better for most than next weekend, since its a holiday next weekend and people tend to have family plans or go out of town.

Sorry to put a break on the conversation, but since I'm a recent transplant to Sac- wondering whether you guys know or recommend a trusted Vw/Audi Indy shop that can work on my 07 A3 for service/maintenance . I had a great mechanic in SoCal that only worked on Vw/Audi and Saab cars (former rally car driver/ car builder) but now I have to find someone or somewhere trustworthy. I just noticed a leak on my outer CV boot (pass side) and would like to get that fixed soon before rainy /winter weather hits. or if any of you recommend an Audi dealer of choice for maintenance work. Of course I'm always looking for quality and cost friendly place.
I live in No Natomas (by del paso/ 5 freeway/ e commerce way area)

Elk Grove Audi always does the work on my cars and they always do great work.

There's also 2Bennett in Davis, JHM in Lathrop, and 034 in Fremont.

I think everyone charges around $100/hour for labor

I feel like 2B rounds up their labor hours. Before I started doing suspension work myself. They quoted me like $500 for a spring install (I provide the springs) on my old A5. In my garage, I can get that done in about 3 hours with a jack stand and air tools. I feel like 2B can easily get that done before me.

Report the issue here so others know and it makes them more aware of their issues. Also the State can bring down the gavel if too many people have had similar complaints against a repair shop. Too many complaints and their license wont get renewed and/or they'll get fined.

I'll do some looking around this weekend in EG, I think I might have a few places in mind but I need to go look before I open my mouth. My biggest issue with EG is how touchy the cops can be there. I don't forsee any issues its just something in the back of my mind.

Yeah, they started the game off kinda slow, down by 10pts and lots of turnovers. Then by mid 2nd qtr to about the late 3rd, they kept a pretty decent lead. I don’t even know what happened in the 4th...it’s like they got lazy because they knew they had the lead. Lol. But yeah, I’m getting into it again!

Couple places I could think of is there’s a Starbucks off Whitelock, right next to Franklin High School, that’s right in between I-5 and Highway 99 and that plaza has a huge open parking lot. I’d say the lot where Five Guys Burgers, just off of 99, is at would be cool, depending on the time of day. There’s a couple spots right off of I-5 right at the Elk Grove Blvd or the Laguna exit where we could go.

Actually come to think of it, Ed's right about the EGPD. If we met up somewhere closer to the freeways and not so much into EG, it'd be better for the ones who have some mods that could catch the EGPD attention.

This starbucks might be perfect, with Golds Gym gone there is plenty of free parking in areas that we wont be disrupting business and its literally right off the freeway.

That sbux area would be perfect. I actually live right next to that area and skate in the parking lot where golds gym used to be. It’s actually a church now, but I dunno when they meet. I was there one Sunday afternoon, skateboarding in the lot, and there was no one there. A lot of parking space because there’s hardly any businesses up in that plaza. If anything, I can go there and take a couple of pics and post it on here.

I'll porbably check out the plazas right off of the freeway at Elk Grove Blvd, too.

The best places probably to meet up are:

Whitelock Blvd and Bruseville at that semi vacant shopping center
Strikes bowling alley parking lot on Laguna
The old Golds Gym lot on laguna
Shopping center off I5 and elk grove blvd behind the Shell

I did the same with my B7 Avant. I brought in Stasis coilovers and had 2B do the install. They weren't too enthused but they took my money. They would rather sell you the parts and do the install but they did have the best prices for a TB job for my B6 3.0 though. Audi EG wanted $2100+ for parts and labor, East County Euro wanted $1900+. 2B did it for $1400. They do awesome alignment work too. Niello Audi has jacked up my cars in so many ways. I hate them. All of these spots are really good places to have an Elk Grove meet. Most of these spots stay fairly open, except for the Strikes lot (unless we pull out to the back lots near Cal Fit). The Whitelock/Bruceville area would really be prime (same location as the starbucks I was talking about in my post), but I’m just worried about how far they have to drive into EG and could possibly get lit up by the sensitive EGPD. If anything, the other 4 spots are good because they’re right off the freeway and all have places to grab some drinks or something to eat.

Yeah that starbucks would be the best bet or the lot across the street where the Sun Grove Church/former Gold’s Gym is, since that lot is bigger and vacant most of the time.

I gotta fill up my Audrina this weekend and since the Chevron I go to is right next door to that place, I’ll take a couple of pictures (if it’s still light out) and then I’ll post them.

I was just out there, I think the lot across where the former Gym was is better to meet up. We could just use the Starbucks as a marker/address.

So SacTown AZ'rs When would you like to have another meet. We are about even with the Saturday and Sunday folks, from my own personal opinion Saturdays work best since I usually can't get away from football on Sundays with people at my house.

I'm gonna throw some dates out, Start time will be 2pm, that gives us maybe 2-2.5 hours before sundown. These are all Saturdays, I can likely do 12/9 but that's the first Sunday I know no one is coming over for football. Plus, Sundays are made for relaxing [:p]

11/17
12/1
12/8

Which dates work best for you guys so we can get a better turnout than 3? [az]

This will be the location. Quick freeway access and since their services are on Sunday we shouldnt be bothering anyone.

I have looked for months to find fenders and found those today and started looking there today. The guy said he normally just sends everything to the East coast. If you need a random part I suggest going there instead of spending for ever on forums. Ok thats all just very happy I finally got these damn fenders!

I've been there, but I went there for my EK civic. There is a ton of parts on cars there compared to stockton's which I visit regularly

Congrats on the fenders!

Which dismantler? I've been to one of them and their service was okay. I did like that they let me enter the yard and pick the part I wanted.

Yeah there are a ton of different dismantlers. It was Auto Imports USA but I found them under Volkswagen Audi Specialized Recyclers. They said they were going through a name change. The service was good because I went on the yard found want I wanted and they pulled it. This was all 15 mins before they closed too.

Anyone know of a good road/street in Elk Grove where I can get up to 60 and then quickly stop [safely]? I need an area with no traffic.

in eg, i usually go down bruceville south, there are a ton of backroads there past grant line. if in sunrise, head to dillard road by slouhouse. if by natomas, go up 5 north and turn off twords yuba city and just take one of those streets off the freeway that cross.

What Kris said.

You might also want to check out the area where they were supposed to build the Elk Grove shopping mall, just a few miles right behind the Elk Grove Auto Mall. Just drive down West Stockton Blvd, alongside 99 south. After the stop sign right next to the Nissan dealership, there’s a good stretch of road. Then you can make a right onto Whitelock Parkway and there’s another good stretch of road.

Does anyone have a set of Blizzaks that would want to swap for a day or so? I want to go up to the snow and have some fun with the quattro. But I have summer tires... If anyone would like to swap please let me know. Thanks!

There's the Berkeley Marina meet in a few weeks. We can probably setup a caravan there.
