Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've been on here, so, hi!

I'm looking at getting a 2008 Audi A4 2.0TQA (Turbo, quattro, automatic) and was wondering if there were any huge issues? Engine failures? Transmission problems?

I purchased a 2010 Mercury Milan (Ford Fusion) and found out after the fact that it has many known transmission problems. Trying to avoid repeating myself.

Thanks in advance!

lol, that many problems huh? I mean my 2002 A4 1.8TQM blew up in my face around 100k miles, but I thought the 2.0T was a big improvement......

I saw the list with the diverter valve, pcv valve, etc. I was wondering if anyone had any catastrophic problems?

None here after 42K miles, although I have the 6MT. In fact, it's been such a good car that I am picking it up off-lease after I get it CPO'd.

By 2008 they'd ironed out a lot of the problems so this car should fair better than you're last couple in terms of reliability.

Had my 2008 for over three years now and it literally hasn't had a single problem. Not even a minor one.

See my post from last week:
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/415135-A4-revving-issue-while-at-low-speeds

I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow. They will come with me briefly for a test drive. The car BETTER rev funny while I'm there so they'll take me seriously. I feel like over the past week the RPM fluxation also causes a loud noise under the hood... UGH! Other than this issue, I love the car.

I need to get this resolved asap so I can start to modify some stuff - tint, hardwire radar detector, rs4 grill, eventually lowering it, and nicer wheels.

Whatever you do don't get one with the CVT transmission unless you have 7k to blow if it goes bad and you're out of warranty.

I have a tip and i got my car at 64,xxx its now at 76,xxx and runs great no major problems. Although as soon as i got it I had to get a timing belt, new cams, and a cam follower change. Besides that no major issues, it's been running like a champ!!! I was gonna start to mod but honestly i push the car once in a while and it has enough power for me so stock it is.... If you plan to mod, just keep in mind that the further in you go the less reliable the car will become...

Only real problems to note right now is:
1. bad oem-bixenon headlights, cant diagnose the problem correctly
2. Cranking turnover is shitty in anything below 20 degrees
3. Tranny shifts a little funny sometimes. Very rare tho, although almost all auto transmissions has their retard moments...

That's the car I'm test driving tomorrow, is there anything in particular I should check? Also does anyone on here work for audi that could pull the service history?

I paid like 800 more than that and got the Ti sports package, tinted windows, HID. .ipod, bluetooth etc. the non sport steering wheel just doesn't do it for me. however mine had 5k more miles.
