Ok guys, so this is nuts. I can't even remember ever having this many rocks in the 10 years or so I owned a Honda, but the Freeway i take to work now has a lot of big rig trucks that i guess just kick up rocks. I thought the strategy was to just sit as far back from a truck as possible, but today i was behind a Rav4 and got a bloody rock (i think on my roof)...so clearly my technique is failing.

So what's the best technique? Just be as far back as possible from EVERY car on the road? Or is it better to be really close? My goal is to just get into the fast lane where this rarely happens for me, it usually hits me right when i get on the freeway or as i get closer to my exit.

There is not much you can do... really stay way back of Trucks where possible... and whenever i try to pass a truck i try and be as many lanes over as possible... other than that... idk.

A car is made to be driven and rock chips are going to happen. Unless this is your second car, I just wouldn't worry about it. Theres no way to prevent it

I can only agree. The new water based paint is CRAP^100. I have chips and road rash all over my hood, front bumper, front quarter panels, roof and even the rear bumper wtf?!?!?! On a 1 YO car! I only wish I'd known this before I got the car. Too late now.

right... a lot of people argue that clear bras can be bad for the car... When the clear bra gets removed, any blemishes that were created by rocks hitting the clear bra can get exaggerated. Also, if for some reason the clear bra needs removed, the paint can be discolored.
