My passenger side fender is dented up pretty bad so I'm looking to get it fixed. I went to a local body shop and they said it would be about 200 to bond-o it, so I think the logical thing to do would to just buy a new one. I found this one and its really cheap.

I want something that will fit right and look good. Tell me your opinions/ suggestions. Thanks

I've always wondered about partsgeek and if parts fit correctly. Hopefully someone else will post on this.

if his avatar is his car, looks like a prefacelift.

i guess theres still a difference between the prefacelift cars though, some had the oval audi badge under the marker light and the later years didnt.

my car was backed into over the summer and smashed up the drivers side one. $1100 in damage and it's still not right. they did the best they could to make it look right, but that fender was banged up. i just got my replacement fender off ebay yesterday. total with shipping was $275. salveged off a car same year, model, and color.

Facelift came with the oval side marker light and no Audi logo. Only the pre face lift cars had the round side marker light and IIRC only the 96/97 came with the audi badge on the fender.
The other difference between the facelift and prefacelift is the location/size of the door guard.

Just looked at his profile and his info says 97.

$275 shipped (oem salvaged) vs $38 shipped (non-oem).

Unless you can find an oem panel that doesn't need repainting. I'd definitely try the non-oem first. Even though its a hit and miss with non-oem body panels.

thats the issue i didnt want to run into. the last thing i wanted was to buy a fender and not have a hole that should be there or have holes that dont line up. can't go wrong with OEM.

OP- if you're interested, idk what model your car is or color....but i think the name of the online store i bought mine from was "Tom's auto salvage" or something along those lines. he has a black 2001 that i got the drivers side fender from, and i believe they're selling the passenger side for 125 plus shipping ( shipping was about 90 for me).

Wow, 275 for a used fender? The yard I get my audi parts from sells them for $65-$85.

Whatever you do, dont buy an aftermarket one ..
I change one of my fender with a el cheapo 45$ fender . And the bumper clip doesnt snap at all .. we had to do some little modification and also the side marker hole isnt correctly shaped for the light.
go in a scrap yard or buy it new

I have an aftermarket fender on my car (put on by a PO) and its HORRIBLE.. body line behind the trim at the very bottom is way wrong and where the hood bows out, the fender bows WAY more then the hood.. so its gapped right at the headlight and windshield but in the middle is 1/4" or so gap from the fender being pressed wrong.

Do you think it would be cheaper to buy a fender from a junk yard and just get it repainted?

cheaper, maybe, maybe not depending on if it needs any additional work. but if you want it to look right and look good, i would suggest going with the OEM part. most of the non-oem parts aren't painted so add the cost of paint too. call a few salvage yards and see what kind of deals you can get!

Sable brown was a rare color. Your going to have a rough time finding a painted one.

Maroney's Foreign Car in Smithton, PA. They are awesome, but very busy.

^^Never seen a brown A4. That's going to be tough, certainly.
