I'm thinking about doing a spring/shock combo to my A4. I called my dealer and they didn't give me a very straight answer as to what would be voided on my CPO due to aftermarket springs. Has anybody dealt with warranty work in this type of situation. The only mods I would have are springs/shocks and rs4 swaybar.

I just dont want something to go wrong say transmisson wise down the road and audi tell me it was because of the height of the car chaning that made the trans go bad.

Basically they look at it as what does it affected. Suspension can relate to a lot on the car. So if the turbo blew for example, they can't really blame that on your suspension. That's how most dealers look at it.

You could always just get oem sport springs which give you a moderate drop, then they cant say anything to you. But you probably wont get the kinda drop your looking for

I'm thinking about getting 19" 997 wheels staggered. I know springs and shocks wont directly affect anything, but the dealer has a way of screwing you when something does happen. I'm just weary of them saying "oh well since you put these aftermarket springs on, you changed the driveline angles, which slowly wore down your trans so you are going to have to foot the bill for this 3k."

I wouldn't worry about it. If they are dicks about it then you just call up Audi of America and they usually set things straight.

If something major happens and you are that worried about it swap the stock back in and then go. It'll be a PITA but may be worth it.

idk my dealer is very nice when it comes to modding and he is more then happy to warranty work for me but i could imagine a dealer being a prick if they really wanted to be look around the regional forums and see if there is a mod friendly dealer nearby and take your business to them

im in this same boat right now. Im about to have h and r springs/ bilstein sport shock combo installed tuesday and was wondering if it voids the cpo warranty. Pretty much each dealer is different, some dont care about mods while other do. I can say for sure that if say your cam followers or pcv valve go or things of that nature the suspension wont void it. Now if a control arm fails prematurely, that will be voided (control arms are considered maintenance anyway and arent covered under warranty.) pretty much suspension related components will be voided.

Depends on how cool your dealer is. One dealer has an issues with all my mods in sig, the other is perfectly fine and has done CPO work for me since the first mod was installed.
