Just noticed today that the green bulb symbol on the instrument cluster that informs me that the headlights are on is not working. It's not a huge deal as I can obviously tell when the lights are on (car has the auto headlights) but how easy is it to change the bulb and can anyone point me to a DIY, including the part number for the replacement bulb?

Thanks in advnace

Has the bulb definitely gone or has the VAG coding messed up?

Can anyone confirm whether the indicators are traditional bulbs or LED's? If LED's then I would not expect that it has gone, but I guess anything is possible.... Only VAG-COM done to the car is the seatbelt chime and the indicator was working post VAG-COM (i.e. a few days ago). Also all the other indicators are working fine.....

All indicator bulbs are LEDs at this point... there are no more bulbs that can be changed out. LEDs can be replaced as well, but complete dis assembly and soldering is required.

Digging up an old thread but I thought it was only the b6 that had the headlight symbol illuminated on the dash. My b7 doesn't.
