After almost 3 trouble free years the problems seem to be starting.

A couple days ago I was on my way back to my car from doing some shopping and my panic chime was beeping. I figured that I may have accidently hit the panic button.

A couple days later my Airbag light comes on and has not gone off since. Yesterday most of my electrical components went nuts. My windows would not operate, my lights would not turn on, there are 2-3 different light warnings in the dash. Flashers stopped working. The heater was turning on/off and the trunk would not open!

I'm figuring that there is some sort of a control module that controls all the electronics in the cabin? Has anyone else experienced this?

thanks!
Ray

Hey Ray -

I'd start with something as simple as disconnecting the battery and putting the key in the ignition. Our cars are run by what are basically computers so maybe yours needs to be 'rebooted' - who knows.

One thing, though - your car may throw out a CEL when you reconnect the battery while it re-calibrates everything.

Let me know if that helps at all.

Hi Eric

I unplugged the battery last night. Plugged it back this morning with same results.

Thanks

I'd probably go through and check all my fuses and take out/plug back in all the relays in the fuse box. I know it's a pain but maybe there's something screwy.

I don't think it's a fuse. If a fuse is dead the component would stop working for good right?

In my case the components flicker on/off. One second they work and then they don't

Would a bad relay do this?

Thanks

the fuse strategy is used to narrow down where the problem exists. When you pull the fuse, it removes power to that system, so if you remove a fuse and the problem goes away, chances are the problem is in that system, whether its chaffed wires or a bad relay. Other than that, I can't really help you out man, good luck.

Ahh ok, I will try that. If I dont figure this out today I will have to take in to Audi in the morning.

Will keep you all posted.

thanks!

In the mean time, if anyone has any other ideas feel free to reply :-)

Took it to the dealer today, the problem was my comfort module under the seat. Water got in and fried the module. They replaced it under warrenty! Woot
