So I have been browsing the forums reading up on catch cans, and after viewing the write-ups, I decided that this was something that I wanted to do! BUT I didn't want to pay 200+ for a whole kit! Or use JB weld. So I decided to make my own valve cover plate. I removed the stock plastic piece and reverse engineered it, coming up with this...

I noticed that the BSH kit has a threaded PCV adapter, and a few of the other manufacturers PCV adapter is welded on or machined as one piece. So I was wondering if anybody knew were I could get one of these threaded PCV adapters. I am on the hunt for one! I guess if I can't find one I will be making that piece too, along with the manifold cap. The manifold cap is on the todo list for tomorrow...

Props to you sir. Seeing DIY stuff always makes me happy (more hopeful lol).
Are you talking about the hose barbs to connect the hoses to the plate?
Mcmastercarr.com will have what you need for sure.

How do you plan to seal the plate to the valve cover?

No I was talking about the fitting that I need to connect the 1 stock hose that needs to be reconnected... I already have some 90 degree elbows picked out. they have a swivel head so I don't have to fight them hitting each other.

There is a high temp gasket that sits on the other side. If you look through the DIY's you will see that BSH as well as the other manufactures plates are flat on the back.

The piece circled is what I am trying to find...

Would anybody be willing to measure up this piece for me? caliper numbers would be fine... I think I am going to have to make it, and reverse engineering this piece could be a bit hard due to the location of the hose. Im sure I could work some kind of a deal...

You're right. for some reason I was thinking the gasket was set into the pcv, not the valve cover, and that you would need to channel the plate for the gasket.

Or you could do what they did in the 60's, run a hose to the ground lol.
