Hey Guys,

I know that there are a few intake systems on the market for our cars but, has anyone tried the K&N Typhoon system for the B8? I am not sure how close it is for the fitment. If you have any info on whether or not it works would be great!
Thanks,

any reason why you would want a b8 one instead of one designed for your car?

Price is better.. Have had K&N on every car I've owned.

18.14 HP @ 4435 RPM

LOL. Also, this is not a cold air intake my friend.

Save yourself $200 and just buy a 3" inlet filter of your choice, and hit up blinktek for one of his heat shields. I guarantee you that keeps out more heat from the cat/turbo than this setup.

Why not the BSR Opti Flow Filterkit? :)
I have that set on my car, perfect fit!

also i refuse to believe that it adds 18 hp.....its a turbo charge engine....intakes do not create that type of performance increase unless there was something seriously different with the b8 OEM intake

Intakes are for noise on turbo cars & man do i love the noise! :)

The stock air box on our cars is actually a direct port from the B6 S4, you're changing it up for noise so if you choose to go down this road please save yourself some $

I checked out the install instructions and the B8 airbox looks completely different from the B7. However, the positioning of things still looks relatively similar. Depending on your skill, you can make almost anything work with the right tools and know how. Which is why I chose to make my own intake (with heatshield) with parts I bought myself. Came out to about $90.

Get a k&N panel filter. They were on clearance from ECS for $25. The OEM intake system is pretty well designed, I really see no reason to buy anything. Actually all VAG intakes on newer cars are pretty well designed. Think of the 1.8t and the swiss cheese mod.

i know someone with this, doesn't add 20 hp lol, not even close. And the carbonio sounds better than this one does

Essentially. You will get more air with conr filter so i dont think one makes more noise thrn anothrr. May b wrong though
