Is there a list of what iPods will work with which Dension units? I want to get the Dension (GW16AC1/IPO4DC9) but I have an older iPod. 3rd generation iPod classic and on that model only the firewire connection will charge and transfer data. The USB only transfers data.
I do also have a 2nd gen iPod touch, but its about half the storage size and if I dont have to I would like to save some money from buying the extra charging cable (IPB8DIN).

A lot of my friends didn't even realise that my iPod was an iPod, so here is a pic of a 3rd gen one

Ha, that was my first ipod! Anyway, it'll work. I believe GW100 will work with all USB based ipod. I have a 1st gen iPod mini (yes mini, not nano) and it work just fine, steering control and all. Your iPod touch will work too (my iPhone 3GS and 4 works flawlessly) Go for it!

I have a 4th gen iPod Photo, the one that first had a color screen although the display is smaller than the classic. That works just fine however I have the IP51CR9 cable and that iPod doesn't fit into the cradle very well without some assistance. These older iPod's are a little thick so I use a small eyeglass repair screwdriver to angle the dock connecter. Also I just noticed I have the GW16AC2, hopefully they are similar as far as what iPods are compatable. I really like it, the only thing that bothers me about it is that the MFD always defaults to the GW when you start the car, even if it isn't activated or if there isn't an iPod inserted so you have to cycle the CD button to see the correct input. Other than that it's awesome!
