sometimes CEL doesn't come on.

My old car had P0422 on for a while but no CEL for a while then it went away.

Ittermitent means its deciding to pop a CEL and ur using the shareware version so all 4 codes could be that way. clean ur maf and battery terminals, and examine your wiring on the maf to see if any wires are breaking I'll look up what the other 2 codes are tomorrow when I have an actual computer I'm typing this on my phone lol. Could also possibly be a bad wiring harness or the pins on the ecu are corroding and not picking up signal like they should.

Is your car stuck in limp mode(poor throttle response, limited to 5psi of boost)?

no it was then i noticed the MAF was bad switched it out then drove around the block twice to see how it felt and my car engine light when off and lmp mode went off instantly, so when i got back home i ran the vag com again and it showed those codes no cell light and nomore limp mode.? just wondering why would i have no cell but codes still pulling up? and so fa as throttle responce at about 2500-2400 WOT i feel my car bogg and kinda stall out a lil then it picks back up like it never happened? half throttle its completly fine

Clear your codes and see which ones come back.

The ecu stores codes indefinitely. You have to clear them for them to go away.

This is why vag-com is awesome: Because it can see the codes that *don't* turn on the CEL. Codes that an Autozone scan tool cannot see. These are the "intermittent" codes. There is a 3 trip detection logic, or some-such, that determines when a code will trip the CEL. It has to fault so many times in a row before it goes from an intermittent code to a "hard" code that will show the CEL.

This is also why when you have weird problems with your car, you should check the codes with vag-com *anyway*, even if the there is no Check Engine Light.
