So I had this forge DV on my B5 and I decide to change to a diffrent one. A buddy of mine sold it before he moved and I liked it and was loud but wanted a change becuase this DV is the one that opens and shuts rapidly when you let off the gas. I guess flutter is the word? Anyways I don't need its no more so I want to sell it. Before I do I want to get so more info on it just in case the buyer asks.

I thought the splitter was half air went to atmosphere and half back to the turbo. I was looking online and this was the closest I could find

If it was fluttering, it was probably adjusted way too stiff, or was using too stiff of a spring.

Anyway, that looks like the RS valve that is designed for the Lancer Evolutions.

From what I was told when I bought it. That it was suppose to flutter and it was for the 1.8T engines

That flutter you hear is called compressor surge. It is the turbine shuttering because the boost can't escape. It will destroy your turbo after a while

Haha, it looks exactly like the Forge Motorsport I had in my EVO(Except mine was shiny) .

Yep, no reason this won't work in a 1.8T, as long as you make sure the spring pressure is set correctly so doesn't flutter all the time. A tiny bit of flutter at low boost/part throttle lift is acceptable, but generally should be avoided. I'm pretty sure the turbo in my car failed due to compressor surge that was overlooked by the previous owner. The nut holding the compressor wheel to the turbine shaft finally worked loose from all the compressor stall and trashed and jammed the wheel. Got the car for cheap.
