Don't worry about those other posts - just listen to me carefully, if you're a manly man you can do this in about a minute.

Walk outside - find 2 decently sized rocks - and wing each one real good at each head light and done.. Blacked out to the max.

You're welcome.

Lmfao or if you really want to black them out just pour a 1.75 of Jack Daniels in each of the headlights. Instant blacked out headlights.

Boxmods360, I am not doing it today, I just wanted to get an idea how hard its to do it. Looks easy, I wanna do a like a group DIY project in a week or two on sat, so if you wanna join me, we can do it in my garage. And too everybody else, wow you guy are awesome, all great ideas how to do it, some are really creative haha, I guess I am not the only one bored at work.

wow you guys are helpful. In all seriousness go to a hobby shop and get some transparent black spray paint and remove the headlights and lay them in the garage and apply even coats to each light until you have reached your desired "blackness". Just make sure to clean them spot free as good as possible or the paint will not stick. Hope this was a little more helpful than the dumbazz rock suggestion

The dude didn't search good enough. We are tired of answering the same question for years on end when there are faqs, DIY's, and threads that discuss these extremely basic mods in great detail. Blacking out a headlight is basically the same for any car, you could just do a Google search and find your answers.

Even still I'm gonna be helpful and explain how it's supposed to be done. Lift your hood and mask off your bumper around the lower edge of your headlight housing, then do several even coats of plastidip, waiting about 15-30 minutes between each one and you're golden. For a nice glossy appearance, finish off with a couple coats of clear. See instructions on can.

To clear corner, open up the housing and beat the amber lens repeatedly with a hammer, it will crack and remove itself.

Yes, bored at work...

Yeah, yeah, I get it. The question has been asked before. But here's what I DON'T get. Who's getting FORCED to respond? Or even read the thread? This is a forum, not a personal conversation, face to face. There is no pressure to respond, or even acknowledge the thread exists. So, why do so many tirade about the search function? It's outright abusive and doesn't help anyone.

Because if no one explains the stupidity of not using the available resources to easily find answers to repeatedly answered questions, the redundant threads will pile up at an even more alarming rate, making it impossible for people to use the search to find threads that have useful and detailed info.

As it stands, you're just flooding the board with nonsense. So instead of searching something and getting a few useful threads, you get 15 pages worth of the same thing, most of which are uninformative. There is no reason we can't see a redundant thread and come in to police it, so it goes both ways, in out favor.

Stay here for a bit and check out more and more threads, I dare say most members will find that it gets old real quick.

[headbang]why would you want to black out your headlights? they're on the car for night visibility. complete the joey mod if you want them to look cooler or buy a different set, but blacking them out is simply a retarded idea. you do own an audi, possibly with a very efficient xenon light setup...NOT a ricer. if you really want to make them look different, just get some lamin-x coloring and use that.

Well this sucks, I can't read sideways. And your battery is low. Same questions pop up, no ones getting angry. Just try to expand your search more. Its as if your trying to search for a pink B7 a4 with pink bbs wheels, with a 2.23" drop, etc.

Worst. Rationale. Ever.

Again, who FORCES you to open and read these threads? And explain to me how berating someone removes the thread from the "flood" of incoming threads? Somehow, somewhere, this mob mentality was created that it's "cool" to abuse people for asking a question. F'ing search Nazis.

Here's an easy solution- if you see a thread title that you won't enjoy reading, productively commenting on, or at least have fun in, then don't even read it, no less post. Abusing people does nothing to build a forum community.

Deal. You're right. This "debate" is boring and tired. I would search your "post history", but it's got nothing to do with anything whatsoever, and has no valid input into anything.

You can call me out of you want don't worry I'm a big boy, and it won't hurt my feelings. I was sitting in the airport waiting for my flight so I had the time to kill. You started your thread by saying "I have search and I have not found a DIY how to black out the headlights. If you have a link, please post. Thanks in advance." Tim

The correct English would have been "searched not search" and I was just proving a point that your question has been answered so many times items even part of the new member introduction section.

This is the best car forum on the web and most of the time members are willing to help out others, but the pages upon pages of the same questions over and over again gets real old.

Just use the search function here or Google what you are looking for and it will direct you here. No hard feelings on my end and sorry the pic came out sideways. :)

Who are you Martha fucking Stewart? Making a craft day? I would highly advise against doing anything that would lessen your already poor light output. If anything you might want to get a better lighting set up and since you are the DIY type try retrofitting a set of projectors from an Acura or something.

You're not starting off on the right foot by anyones standards.

There's about 400 DIY's for blacking out your damn housings.
