View Full Version : 1996 2.8 auto: intake leak?

02-01-2011, 07:38 AM
After lots of work on the transmission, I now get the following "leak" codes. I noticed some sparking on the middle, left plug (between plug and block) also. I inspected the flex hose between block and MAF but could not find leaks. I also sprayed starter fluid and carb cleaner in all areas, but did not detect the typical signs.

Where should I start with the troubleshooting?

I noticed some sparking on the middle, left plug

this is your misfire issue, you need to solve that first and see what codes are left. New plug wires.

Spark plug wire set: do you think the Duralast will do? Bosch are 4x the price!!!!

Duralast is the shittiest shit in the world. but i guess if i had to buy one duralast thing for my car, it would be spark plug wires. easy to replace / no consequences of failing.
