Hi, i just bought a 2006 2.0t Avant to replace my 2002 Jetta. For now car is stock and start looking in the DIY thread for future mods.
Car is manual with 94000 km, paid 16000$ cdn for it, which i think is a good price.
First step beside putting a Redtop Optima battery in it, i'm looking to do..
-Chip it with Revo, APR or Unitronic (91 software).
-DV
-CAI or drop-in K&N (didn't check all the options yet)
-window tint
-rear trunk spoiler, dont know which one yet (it look's weird without)

Next step this summer will be :
-18" black or gun metal wheels ( Forgestar F14, RS4 or another kind with deep center and flush at the tire, no lip)
-Drop it (dont know if i'll go with coil over or cup kit yet)
-Looking for a good price on a RNS-E and S4 or RS4 heated Recaro seats (black or d'Alcantara 2 colors)

And black grill, bumper and door blade are an option if i find something used interesting.

I've read and search, but some post are kinda old and long.
So my first question is.
What aftermarket Vag Com (and software version) cable can clear codes and log into engine? My ebay cable with 409.1 is working for my Jetta, but not on all module on the Audi.

Thank you.

Welcome. The B7's have a CAN-BUS interface...I'm not sure if the eBay cables will even work with that. It's worth investing in the real Ross-Tech cable...I've had mine for years (it replaced my eBay cable), and its much more useful: Ross-Tech VAG-COM (http://www.europaparts.com/vag-com-diagnostic-tool-hex-usb-can-ross-tech.html)

Welcome. Purdy car. Avant envious.

Here's a good find. Votex rear spoiler 85% off from ECS.

Nice avant!

the ebay cable will only do certain VAG modules, only the expensive Ross-Tech VAG cable will clear codes/retrieve logs etc.

Welcome, and congrats on your new ride, looks sweet. Ive heard APR is the best chip for B7's, though I might be biased since thats what I have :-). IMO, that should be your first mod, you get the most bang for your buck with it and definitely will feel a difference.

I would recommend the RS4 sway bar after. Its only $125 and make a ton of difference in giving Audi's a more neutral feel. I wish I had done mine a lot earlier.

Also a DV and BSH block or catch can... there are threads on both.

Thanx for comments.
I was thinking about APR ,Revo or Unitronic, but Revo is closer and might have a deal on it.
As for the sway bar, i though that AWD needed it less than my FWD Jetta. But today i felt like it does have more understeer than oversteer. Any ways to send more power to the back wheels via Vag Com?
Keep coming the mod recommendation, i'm open.
