HELP.....! I am going crazy... My Stock '01 S4 has worn out the inside of the front tires. Really bad. Yokohama YK520 225/45r/17s on stock Audi wheels .. My mechanic and an Audi tire guy both told me the belts have seperated... (see pics) Okay... Since that happened I order a set of BBS CH replicas ( 18"x 8", 5-112 bolt pattern, 35 offset, 66.6 hub bore ) with Nexen N3000 225/40ZR/18 tires.

My first concern is I don't know why the old stock front tires did what they did. I don't want this to happen with the new wheels/tires. And now I am concerned about needing spacers and/or hubcentric rings.. (66.6 to 57.1) I didn't know any of this stuff.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me or offer some advice...? I haven't even driven the car since I put the new wheels on...

Thanks guys...! (as he pulls more of his hair out)

I forgot to mention. I had a new front suspension kit installed about a year ago. Upper and lower control arms, etc...

1. Check CA's for damage and replace.
2. If you are lowered > 1", deal with inside tire wear or get adjustable upper control arms to dial camber back to stock.
3. Get an alignment done w/ 0 toe all around, front camber can't be adjusted (only made equal on both sides), rear camber can be adjusted to an extent.

You will need hubcentric rings which are easy enough to find and fairly cheap. You don't necessarily need spacers unless you want to push the wheels out a little more to make them a tad more flush.

I more dumbass question... Are my lug bolts 114mm or 112mm...? And does anyone know the stock length...? The new rims need conical bolts.. (I found out after I mounted them, but didn't drive it yet)
Another question.. (man it would nice to have a data base with all the information) Are my stock wheels 17"x7.5" or 17"x7"...? And is the offset 45...? I found a calculator and it makes a big difference between 7.5" and 7" with a 45 offset going to the 18"x8" with a 35 offset....

Also I put down the new tire size wrong... I am replacing my 225/45R/17s with 235/40ZR/18s

bolts are 14mm x1.5 thread pitch. Stock Avus are 17x7.5" ET45. When using 18x8.0" ET35 with a 235 width tire it is recommended to roll the front fender lips so your tread does not catch on the lip when hitting a dip or bump mid-turn and pull your fender out.

Man a database with all this info would be fantastic...! Thanks for the update.. A lot of info I wish I had before I bought these...
