Some of you may remember me or know me, some of you may not...but I need a quick favor: I've got a pretty good customer of mine who is experiencing issues getting his car smogged. It's a 2010 Corvette ZR-1. I am trying my best to get this figured out, but it's hard with me being in Missouri and him being in the City of Industry...when he bought the car from us and I shipped it out, we were under the assumption it would pass california emission testing. However, every place he's been to has told him it's not passing for some unknown reason. Since he knows I'm originally from SoCal, he asked me to try and find a pay-to-pass smog facility. But I havent lived in California for over a year, so I'm out of the loop. Anyone know of any within the LA/OC region that I can send this guy to so that we can get this resolved?? Thanks!

I have a few contacts, but I need to know what’s not passing, the tail pipe or OBD-II scan?
Has he tried “grantee to pass” fuel additives?
Or running 87 octane, I know that sounds bad to run an LS9 on 87, but as long as he doesn’t build any boost he should be ok, just long enough to run the smog then go back to 91 + octane booster.

I need to talk to the guy again and find out for sure. He's not very good at speaking english and I have a difficult time understanding him. But from what he's told me, it's something to do with the ECU....so I'm guessing OBD-II. I sent him a new ECU about a week ago out of a ZR-1 that has already passed, but I dont know for sure if our dealer in California has installed it yet. The quickest and easiest way for me to get this resolved for him is just pay to get it done. We're covering the cost, so cost isn't a huge issue. But he's already late on his registration because of it, so now I'm covering the penalty + smog fees, and it's cutting into my front end gross day after day. So the soonest I can get this done, the better.
