CEL after HFC

I am considering getting a HFC to upgrade to APR stage 2, I know that after installation I will get a CEL but I want to know if it is safe to drive around for potentially a couple days in case I can't make it in to get reflashed right away, or if its better to time installation and reflash as close as possible. From what I understand the upgrade to stage 2 software is simply a file to delete the CEL, wanted to confirm this.

I just did it. I put ~500km on with no problems. Just a big smile from the extra ponies.
