My clutch finally died, driving up to denver, it slipped out, couldn't shift into gears.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to get it replaced/ buying parts on-line?

Is this clutch good? http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B7_A4-Quattro-2.0T/Drivetrain/Clutch/ES1843919/

I was quoted for $1800 at 303 motorsports, almost 8 hours of labor, however, it seemed a bit excessive.

Does it regularly take 8 hours to replace the clutch? what kind of price range should i be looking at?

I live in the Denver area, hoping to be able to find a shop within the Denver area, or possibly Colorado springs.

Any advice would help.

Thank you.

a mechanic should be able to do it solo in 2-3 hours tops....8 hours is taking you for a ride

On my S4, I paid 800 for 9 hours of labor. A4 clutch jobs are supposedly a lot less involved than on S4's. I would not pay more than 800

You are paying $225 an hour!!! that is absolutely absurd!!!! most shops are between $90-135 per hour

They quoted me for $105 per hour so the rest is parts, however, it still seems like an absurd amount, thanks for your input

The dealership potentially would be less expensive than what you were quoted. Have you requested a quote from your local dealer?

get another estimate. 303 doesn't really seem to want more business, at least that's the impression i got of them when i tried to have an inspection done. they are one of the biggest euro shops in that area, and if this is the quote they gave you they obviously feel that they can hike their prices. i tend to steer clear of shops when they get like that as prices, quality of work, and customer service all seem to get progressively worse once they start down that road. there are a number of other reputable shops in the denver area. quattrowerks might be worth looking into.

thats pretty pricey for a stock clutch, i got quoted for a clutchmasters fx300 and 5 hours labor for 1600. Still kinda high i feel, opinions?

funky_snowman,

are there any shops you would recommend?

i've only had limited servicing of my a4 since i've only recently gotten it. i've been to quattrowerks, and they seemed like they know their stuff. just google map search "Audi repair" and read the reviews.

It's like 8 or 9 hours book time on clutch replacement, which most people will charge. I'd find someone cheaper.

Getting the car checked out by 303 motorsports tomorrow, possible clutch replacement.
