Hi, everyone I'm new to Forums and I have never created an account before anywhere. I'm sure this ? Has been asked and answered so many times I'm having a hard time figuring out where to look on this sight for answers and stuff. So to make it short I just bought a 2006 Audi A4 2.0T Black on Black. I have quite a bit of knowledge about european cars just nothing you guys probably know when it comes to Audi. (So my ? Is where is the best place to find a RS4 Wide Body kit? Audi or GMG maybe? What all needs to be bought to make it work and fit? Some people say I need a trunk and doors also? I thought I would just need front bumper, grill, fenders, side skirt, and rear bumper.) I plan on doing everything steering wheel, carbon interior, wheels, and doing a 450HP Turbo kit and other stuff on my build. I'm excited because I have never done a build of a car before so all the help you all could give me I will never forget and will greatly be appreciated.

Welcome!

The RS4 conversion is not the the faint of heart. It takes a lot of time, money and skill. It mighty be cheaper to just find a RS4 honestly. But here is a thread where someone built a RS4 from a B6. But considering how different the B7 A4 is from the B7 RS4, its pretty close to the same amount of work I think. I think the only thing you could keep on the B7 A4 would be the hood and wiring, but don't quote me on that.

Best of luck.

Okay thanks.. yeah well I already paid for it in cash so I'm stuck with it (:
I think it will be a fun project. I could always go for that DTM body kit to tho. I had a link saved when I was doing some research GMG makes a wide body conversion for the A4 for $4500? I was thinking of buying that and having my shop put it together. But I'm assuming its not that easy from the sounds of it? I will check the link u left me to thanks for that.

NGNG also did this from his B6 S4 after an accident. But I think most are going to not be very encouraging of this idea. I for one love the RS4, but would never dream of doing a body kit to imitate it, not even from a S4. So I personally am against the idea. Doing a good motor build on the A4 is great and there's lots of info out there on that for you. Just personal opinion though.

Hmmm. Yeah I do agree with you from the stand point of immitation. I just love the look it has of the RS4 I wouldn't go around saying I have one id say I have a A4 with the conversion. The cars look so similar to eachother other than the wider fenders and stuff so I just thought it would be minor work to do it. If I'm going to have to strip the car down to almost bare then forget it. Ill do some simple stuff instead. Its going to be my new daily driver so I just wanted to give it an appearance boost that would be respectable and not a lot of people are doing.

Both front and rear fenders are wider and it goes down to the doors. You'd need all of the front end, weld new rear quarter panels, new rear doors and new trunk lid (since the rs4 has a spoiler line in it). You will also need front and rear RS4 bumpers.

Some Scandinavian dude has done it before... you might as well sell your car and buy an RS4, it will cost you the same amount of cash.

I see quite a few people doing the B6 to B7 conversion and what not I wonder why I don't hear more people or a couple that have to the B7. Its more straight forward isn't it? There like twins already in a sense. I'm sure there here or somewhere I'm assuming since companies like GMG and VIS cell kits for the car. Someone has to have bought it somehwere and did it. But like I said if its going to be some insane feat then ill just do a OEM DTM Kit and throw some RS4 Wheels with some intirior ques and call it a done project. Then later do a upgraded turbo kit. What's your guys opinion on the L.E.D headlight?

Wow.. so its definately not as simple as advertised. Ok well it looks like the DTM kit it is. Thanks guys I appreciate the help. I would put some pictures up but I'm sure you all know what a stock B7 looks like (: ill post some when I get some new stuff done to it.

Yes it is a not a straight forward swap on bit.

Good luck on the DTM stuff. It will look great when done. I have a friend who put the DTM front on his B7.

Mods, maybe want to move this to the A4 section then? Since this is an A4 question to start with and most of the other A4 conversion questions are based over there.

Halik also nailed it on all the basic parts than I'm aware of. I agree, to do it would equal and possibly exceed cost of the RS4 depending to what extent you took it too. I think the people who are really interested in this are other countries or continents where a RS4 is ABSURDLY priced (to our comparison). I think a member in Australia said he wanted to get a RS4 cab, but the S4 cab cost him ~$120k USD as it was due to taxes etc and the RS4 would be significantly more. In those types of scenarios, it's slightly more logical, but still heresy to true audi fanatics.

Yeah the DTM kit looks really clean I'm going to order it next week or 2 W/ Wheels. Just depends on what my check looks like.. Then a carbon interior with RS4 Steering wheel. Call it done for awhile. Contemplate on the L.E.D headlights and do minor stuff from there other than the Turbo kit for the future. Thanks everyone for your quick responses and information. I can see why people join Forums now.

That's crazy!!!! That would be more than an R8 here. Sorry I didn't know I was in the wrong section or whatever. It said A4,S4, and RS4 or something like that and I had a RS4 type ? For an A4. But no worries I got my ? Answered quickly. Thanks again.

Putting a RS4 body on a A4 really isn't a big issue.

Now selling your A4 off as a RS4 is a different story...

Good choice on DTM instead or RS4 conversion. I remember seeing a black DTM with fly's LED's a few weeks ago on here, let me see if I can find a link to that thread; it should give you a pretty good sense of what your finished product may look like.

Well I just bought the car. And I'm mostly looking to have some fun with and for its MPG. When the time came I wouldn't sell it as an RS4 I would sell it as an A4 B7 Quattro with a lot of hard work and clean OEM parts done to it. In any sense I feel after I do what I'm going to do to it ill probably end up getting more for it then I paid. But I agree with another member up top on the DTM anyways a lot less $ and still looks good. Depending on when I get done with this car I might just buy a RS4 in the future. Just depends. I truely wanted this car because of its MPG and running so many appointments etc. for business.

It said sorry no matches... But yeah its easier and it'll keep more money in my pocket for other clean modifications. I didn't realize how hard it would be for the conversion I was greatly mistaken on its hardness and how much more $ it would be to complete.

well, i would encourage you to join the poorer members in the b7 a4 section, since you drive a b7 A4.

rs4 widebody would consist of: front bumper, fenders, side skirts, rear quarter panels, trunk and rear bumper. Then a full respray.

For carbon fiber trim, look on my sig for ocarbon, he is local in AZ as well.

For bt, no idea no one has done 450 WHP yet...i believe we have seen 400 WHP, will cost you 6k though.

if you have any questions let me know.

Well if I wanted an RS4 I would of just bought the car. They only run $30k or so used. I wanted the A4 because of MPG and something to build up. I have my luxury car already. I have my speed fix toys. The RS4 is kind of done already. The only thing that got I really like is the body. There are turbo kits I was looking at that give off 450hp on 91 octane tuned. Of course iam sure that is crank not WHP. But still more than a RS4. I will definately be sticking that in the hood this year. I'm going to start on the exterior then interior and then some performance and done.
I bought this car for a really great price so even if I did everything I wanted in the RS4 area I would still of saved a lot of $. But I decided to go DTM. I appreciate your help and thanks for guiding me on my build. I will definately ask if I need anything.

I don't get this. You gonna buy a plain and simple A4 to get high MPG, but you want to go BT and 450hp??
