Down pipe spring?

just wondering, does the down pipe spring do anything? I lost mine during my exhaust install. I guess it soaks up vibration because when I reverse the steering wheel shakes a bit more than normal. Also any one have the part number? Thanks much guys.

I don't think my APR exhaust even came with one.

its apart of the factory exhaust. its the spring that goes between the transmission and the exhaust.

i just installed my awe exhaust and i couldn't even get the flange on the down pipe to line up to the other flange... i have no noise that i have noticed yet.

do u have it bolted back on or just hanging? mines bolted back up without the spring.
