I have heated leather s-line seats fitted to my car, I have just bought some audi S4 Recaro's which I am going to fit. I had a look at the multiplug connection point beneath the front seats and noticed that there was 4 plugs from my s-line seats. The recaro seats only have 3 plugs so I am presuming that they don't have heated bases, unless someone can advise me different. How easy would it be to transfer the heating element from the s-line seats to the recaros ?
Thanks

But are you sure your Recaro's are heated?

No I don't think the recaros are heated. The s-line seats are. I was wondering if swapping the heating elements over from the s-line seats to the recaros was do-able ?

That I am unsure of. I'm sure it can be done. Now how hard it is, that's a different question...

Nice link [up] But as written, it will really only help for the pressure plate swap, I never did try the heating element. I know koolade9 did it, and I don't think its very hard once you have the seat taken apart, you just need the heating element and the wiring...It's totally do-able, you just need the parts & wiring (much like the pressure plate/sensor). Otherwise it should be a plug & play swap, just install the heating pad and the route the wiring, plug it in to the floor. If your car is already pre-wired for heated seats this should be super easy - if it's not, it may be tricky to get the switches in the dash to work...

Thanks guys
Looking at nickscarblog.com I think I may have bought b6 seats as I have the red, green and yellow plugs. I thought the black plug was the heated seat plug so it looks like they are already heated and I will have to do the pressure plate mod. ;0)

I'm a little confused here, but this is the run-down:

The black plug is where the pressure control module will plug into
The green plug is for heated seats
The red plug is for powering the seat (reclining, lumbar, etc)
The yellow plug is for the seat’s airbag

I believe that's what he is saying Nick. He thought the black was for heated seats, so thought the seats were not heated. But really it was just the sensor he needs to swap.

Btw, I will be using your DIY in the next week. Installing Recaro's myself. Very informative link you have there man! [up]

Wish I had the standard leather euro S-Line seats!
