heres a couple pictures of my B5. i've been lurking for awhile now, but figured id make a thread showing the car!

specs:
2001.5 A4 1.8TQM
Unitronic Stage 2 software
Apr Exhaust w/ECS 3" testpipe
Diy intake
JHM Solid throw shifter/solid linkage/stabilizers bushings(the bushings are in my trunk, havent had time to install them quite yet.
034motorsports Weighted Delrin shift knob(the same as the jhm delrin knob, just plain black with a light 034 engraved on top
AWE DTS
Vmaxx coilovers
Mercedes Alphards w/15mm H&R spacers in the rear. 225/40/18 falken 912's on all four corners
evolution motorsports Thor skidplate

A big turbo setup is in the works, the b5 feels like a dog compared to my old MKIV GTI. i was originally set on a GTRS eliminator, but plans have changed.

its going to be a pagparts vbanded setup w/uni 630cc mafless file

the turbo will either be one of the new Precision garret clones(i.e. the same as the GT28/30/35etc just with a billet compressor wheel)
im currently set on a billet GT2860RS as it should spool incredibly fast while still netting my around 300whp on the stock block, or the new BorgWarner EFR 6255! but im waiting to see some results on that one before i pull the trigger!

if anyone has a full frame gt2860RS setup, please reply with your thoughts on it! thanks!

Nice ride man love the stance [up]. Are you running any camber? It kinda looks like it in the last picture, but I can't tell if that's just the angle that the picture was taken at.

there's definitely some camber in the setup, but i dont have any adjustable control arms. its just from the low ride height/wide rear wheels(9.5")

How do the Vmaxx's run?

the vmaxx's feel only a little bit firmer than my oem sport suspension, but arent harsh at all. i enjoy them 10x more than my old FK's i had on my gti. not even my girlfreind complains about the ride! but in all seriousness, i feel that they are an extremely good value as a DD coilover, if you intend to track the car/drive the living shit out of it constantly then i would consider purchasing something more track oriented. But if all you do is drive/occasional spirited drives then i'd recommend the vmaxx's to you. If it helps, the rears still have another 1.5" to go down, and i could spin the rears down another .5" maybe a little more if i removed the lower perch.

I thought about removing the lower perch on my rear Vmaxx's, but I worry as to what would keep the spring perch from spinning and coming off the threads.

thanks man! yeah im getting ancy about the turbo setup. i just want to see some results on the new EFR turbo's before i commit to anything. i just want a solid/quick spooling 300whp.

I doubt there's any benefit to running a billet GT28RS, that's a small turbo and should spool just as quick as a regular version. Running high boost in a GT28RS will be hard on your rods but you'd have to wind it up pretty high to get 300whp...personally, I wouldn't try to get that much power from that little turbo.

Car looks great, makes me wanna get some coilovers and nice rims!

That car looks real good man. I've always loved alphards on a B5. That stance is on point!

i agree with you completely. 270ish awhp is probably more realistic from a gt28rs, i've thought about doing a billet 2871R as the spool time would come down from the billet wheel. but i'd need to run it around 18psi to feel safe on the stock rods. I reallly would like to try out the EFR 6255/6258 and run it at a lower boost level. but i have to see some results first! the turbo tech itself really is pretty impressive.

I love the rear stance of that car. Looks menacing!

Love the color too:)

yeah the rear stance makes me happy! i may throw some slightly larger spacers on the rears(17, or 20mm)

put some 35series on there for the summer and spin it down.. no more spacing needed, smaller tires required..

LightSwitch

im happy with the 40 series personally, the alphards are soft and with a 35 series tire i could see them getting bent to hell. id run 35 series if i had a set of 19's... which may happen sooner or later as the new Rotiforms are catching my eye.

true.. i didnt think about it being a softy cast wheel.. and on second thought ur pretty damn low.. I love it nonetheless.. and the rotiforms are sick my first big wheel purchase will most likely be a set from them..
