Need to either rebuild my current K03 or buy another. How hard is it to do the rebuild as it is much cheaper than buying another? I plan on going BT next year so this just needs to last another year.

Also, is there a DIY to K03 rebuild??

input and suggestions please.

Look for a used one.

The kit is only 40 bucks but you'll have to find somewhere that will balance it, and my friend has had trouble finding somewhere that will do it. In Chicago

I've read a lot of good things about a place just across the boarding in Indiana. The place is called Precision Turbo and its in Hebron, IN

How about a K03s with 145k miles on it and minimal shaft play? Fresh off my car. [:d]

I need a turbo that doesnt need to be rebuilt or wont die on me anytime within the next year. My turbo now has a blown seal and is eating oil. So if you can say your 140k turbo is capable to last a little longer then we can work somethin out.

I kind of feel your pain. My k03 is starting to eat oil. I was planning on doing the Frankenturbo upgrade, but the lack of tax refund bit that in the ass.

Mine wasn't eating any oil and while there is some shaft play it's pretty minimal. But I don't know if I'd trust it for another year or more. I'd rather see it rebuilt as the last thing I'd want is to sell you this turbo as is and have it shit itself in a few months.
