hey guys,

so i got my car checked by my extended warranty guys, they replaced the turbo because it was fault. But the car still had problems after the new turbo, it would still shoot out black smoked from the exhaust. Recently i got it rechecked and they replaced the gasket cover, water pump, timing belt, and put in new spark plugs, and cleaned out the inter-cooler because it had about 2 ltrs of oil in it :o. I got the car back and it was running amazing, picked up properly and didnt smoke, but today the minimum oil came on and i checked the dipstick and there was no oil, so i refilled it and got it checked from the shop, and he opened the undercarriage of the car and loosened the inter-cooler pipe and a liter of oil change dripping out, so he said its a turbo problem, even though there was a brand new turbo installed. Is this a normal problem with our cars? i'm very annoyed of having this car in the shop for several of weeks. Thanks.

Paul.

Blasting oil into the intercooler sounds like a bad turbo, while extremely improbable its not impossible that you had a defective turbo installed. I remember when my BT GTI decided to spill her guts in my driveway. Letting her idle to warm up on a cold morning before work. Looked out the window and there was a brown swatch that blanketed the snow behind the car for 5 feet. 2 Quarts of oil sitting in the exhaust and a quart and a half in the intercooler. What a mess.

Good luck with all the problems, but damn, sounds like you're getting the whole nine-yards of service done =O

yikes, that much oil in your intercooler and you gotta start wondering if the pistons had enough lube to not get too hot and mess up anything in the car ya kno?

Yeah i know its crazy, I was thinking the same thing, the car went in today, there going to take out the turbo and send it into and see what wrong with it, should i be worried about any other problems regarding the engine? kind of a piss off this cars been in the shop 3 times already, its been in the shop longer than I've had it. noting but problems!!
