The red stuff didnt bite hard enough. I also had carbotech they were not good. The Hawks are semi-metallic and eat your rotors. people love hawk and think they are the best but they are really garbage. I also want to hear about the DS2500. Ferodo has a few more pads but they are for the track and you cant heat them up on the street.

I really like my yellow stuff pads. they have great initial bit and I have not been able to get them to fade no matter what. I was able to get several other pads to fade. Your always trading off initial bite vs fade. If you want extreme initial bit stick to a stock like pads replacement. If you want a compromise go through more agressive compounds. you will always be trading off, dont fool yourself. The yellow stuff pads do make a decent amount of dust but the ferrodo pads do as well. Hawk pads not so much as long as we are talking hps pads but the HP plus are very dusty also. If you want a good stock like pad the hawk hps is great for initial bit and some increased fade resistance. But I really like the yellow stuff pads so if you dont mind a bit more dust take the plunge.

Thanks for the info. What has a harder bite? EBC Yellow Stuff, Hawk HP or Ferodo DS2500? There is also EBC Blue Stuff for the track that are available in some applications.

The blue stuff is not something you should do. It needs a few laps to warm up and really eats rotors quickly. Its at rack only compound. The hawk HP will bit initially harder but will fade before the yellowstuff pads even come close to fading. I dont remember the ferodo pads enough to even comment.
