Which Radar Detector?

Need a radar detector fast. Probably V1 since that's what everybody uses. Where can I get it for cheap?

just like Foo said, I did see one in the classifieds on AW but I bet its gone. Dont worry about the money it will pay for itself the second or third time it saves you from a speeding ticket. I think I've saved enough money from my V1 to buy a few V1's by now.

Check out the X50 passport too .. heard that they beat the V1 on a couple tests.

If you go V1, make sure you get a new firmware (can check on V1's website).

V1 gets my vote. you can't beat the arrows, you just can't.

my roommate has an 8500, and they're basically the same. it's all personal preference. I love the arrows and the hidden remote display.

Save $110 and buy a passport. They are otherwise comparable. except the arrows. If enough people buy passports then Valentine might wise up and stop selling direct only so there will be a little competition at retailers. I refuse to buy into there monopolistic sales tactics.[headbang]

I actually ended up buying an Escort Passport off of eBay. It should come in by Tuesday. I'll let you know how it goes. I get to test it while I'm driving to San Francisco from Los Angeles.

Beware of CHP in the sky, and if you are going 101 beware the Buellton-Santa Maria area, they like to hind and use instant on radar.
