will 245/40/18 work on the stock '06 s4 cabriolet wheel [stock is 235/40/18] without rubbing the fender or the strut?

just got this car, i'm super stoked!! it needs new tires, so i'm wondering what fitment issues, if any, the wider and larger diameter tire may have. i'm new to the audi world - got a lot to learn. btw, my suspension is stock.

It will work.

^ actually, it will most likely rub, if there are no structural differences and wheels are 18x8 ET45.

unless you roll the fender lip and add some negative camber, it will rub when the spring is fully compressed

^thanks for the responses. i figured that with the 245/40 there would be a better chance of rubbing than not. just wanted to confirm [up]

I run 245/40/18 Gislaveds on my stock RS6 rims on my 2006 S4 sedan w no rub. This is my second winter on the tires and they've never rubbed.

bump.....

how about fitment for a 245/40/18 on an 18x8 et43 for a B6 A4?
I'm trying to swap out some even bigger tires on a set of wheels I got and finding these lower profile tires seems to be difficult for shops around here (unless ordered brand new)

Edit: I'm really beginning to wonder about this, since I have now seen what seems like two conflicting answers from Doc@TireRack

In this thread you said it wouldn't work and I found another where you said that you guys have done it before without problems:

unless you roll the fender lip and add some negative camber, it will rub when the spring is fully compressed

We've done the 245/40-18 before with no issues

I was skeptical reading around the web about 245 on the stock 18s, especially with lowering springs and b5 perches in the front. But no rubbing... I am running a 10mm spacer in the rear also.
