Its in the archives. The stalk gets broken. Run a search, I think JMG had a post about it on one thread. Can't miss those awesome sigs.

any idea how much i could sell a black 1997 a4 quattro 1.8t 5 speed manual. It has Greddy TT, Center console swap with a Symphony stereo for upgrades. NO engine problems, has 86k on it.

So the cruise control breaks and you sell? You must really use that thing..

I bought mine(see profile) mod free for 8800. The guy was asking 9500. No problems, 72K miles, new trans, and VERY well maintained. It looks better than my mom's 2003 MDX. I think I got a deal.

Yeah I had mine fail too, it's fairly common.

Sig looks good, Chris. Size wise anyway... [:p]

Was it the stalk for you?

Or the brain box near the glove compartment?

Mine's T.U. too.

does anyone have a part number for this switch or know where i can get one?

The switch on the stalk is a problem. I had the same symptoms a couple years ago...real intermittent. I took the switch apart (not hard, just a major pain in the a--) and it worked fine. The it started acting up again so I bought some "Contract/Control Cleaner and Lubricant" at Radio Shack. Its the stuff you spray into those old style TV tunners that had the rotating contacts. It's an aeresol can with one of those little red tubes. You just turn the car off, spray the stuff in to your switch (with the car off), work the switch around a bit then let it dry overnight before you turn the car back on.

Worked for me and it's a lot easier than taking the d--n thing apart.

well I ordered a new cruise control module, hope it is not the switch /me crosses fingers....have to start somewhere and they were about the same price so I will let you know how it comes out

mine does something similar- I just move the switch over to the resume side real quick like and then it will go into cruise. I think my switch is faulty, but I don't care- hardly use it as it is.
