hey guys,
so im looking at getting new tires for my stock wheels (17x7.5) non-sline wheels. The current tire size is 235/45/17 and im looking at the continental extremecontact dws. However, i want to go 1 size wider and was wondering if its going to be a huge problem other than throwing the speedometer off by 1-2mph. Im looking at going 245/45/17, and want to know if this is completely fine for a stock wheel?
also will these rub if i lower the car on bilstein / h&r Springs?
i searched and didnt really find the exact answer

if you wanna go wider, i would suggest getting 245/40/17s... 245/45s are gonna be pretty meaty and will probably rub if you lower the car.

the only problem is i have my eye set on the continentals, and if i got 245/40/17 the load range isnt enough for our fat pig sedans! This is the only reason why i was considering 245/45 vs 245/40

The tire size that you can use is 245/40/17 but on 7,5 X17 rim it will be a bit far from correct.Remember the Avant RS2 before some years? It used 245/40/17 tires on Porsche wheels.

i understand that the proper tire size would be 245/40/17, however the tire that im set on getting in that size 245/40/17 deosnt support our load weight which is xl. The only size that supports it is 235/45/17 or 245/45/17 which is why i asked. I want to go a bit wider but i want to know if im going to have any problems when lowering my car on bilstein/ H&R springs if i decide to go 245/45/17. Also will it affect performance aspects such as handeling and cornering?
