Weird noise getting off first..

Hey guys earlier today around 4pm I was driving around to find out there was this weird whining I guess sound coming only getting off first (heard it once while rolling on 2nd) didn't hear anything switching or in reverse.

I want to say it sounds clutch related or maybe something dealing with the transmission.

I've got no clue what it could be and wondering if the cold weather could be affecting it. I haven't driven the car for 4 days prior and it's been real cold in socal. Thanks

Well done apollo, well done. Haha. Problems like this are really hard to diagnose over a forum, as we're not able to hear the noise first hand. This could be any number of things. If it's gear-related, it's most likely something with the tranny. If your car is in warranty, have the dealer check it out.

went to the dealer for this and they told me that its normal for it to do that coming out of first gear towards the higher rpms. Do i actually believe this bs, NO! But they wouldnt replace anything for me and im under cpo warranty still.

Does it happen when you're shifting OUT of first, or while the car is IN first?

while in first getting above the 4k rpm mark and all the way to redline, even when shifting out of first into 2nd. After that it doesnt whine anymore. My reverse gear does this as well.

I find it hard to believe it's been REALLY cold in SoCal.... What? 65 degrees?

time to revive a dead thread...i have this problem too and it seems to get worse. when i take off in 1st gear at almost any RPM the clutch lets out a whine noise until i let off clutch pedal. i was going to take it to a dealer and see whats up but my #2 injector decided to die first. so its at a indy dealer now. anyone have any info on this squeal problem?
