Sorry if this is a stupid question, i apologize in advance....
What's the truth about ECU tuning such as unitronic or apr for example.... I heard people say the cars run better after the tune, they are fine, etc... i've heard others say it ruined their cars... a friend of mine had a 2006 audi a4 b7 2.0t, after revo tuning, his fuel pump and cams had to be replaced after cel lights and etc... Do these tunes bring upon problems earlier and more frequently? I ask because i travel from NJ to CT and back quite often...
Stupid question or not, if anyone has any advice, id appreciate it because im on the fence of going with apr or not in worries that i will run into complications with my car from the extra boost, etc.. i have a 2007 audi a4 b7 2.0 t with apr exhaust, cai, awe dv valve, and both a testpipe and cam follower not installed yet

you'll be fine. but you also gotta understand this is probably the most discussed topic in this forum, so you're probably gonna catch alotta flak for it.
the only thing the chip will effect over time I believe is the stock diverter valve, but considering you've already upgraded it i would go for it, be sure to get APR's stage II tune after you put in your test pipe as well

Anytime you increase output or load on a car the wear and tear items are gonna...well wear and tear faster.
I ran APR's 93 octane tune on my GLI for over 3 years and never had an issue, despite being told I would with having DSG, FSI, stock diverter...nada. Replaced my cam follower for the hell of it, and ran BSH's PCV block off.
I plan to flash my A4 soon as the holidays are over.

thanks man
Just get it done. Especially during this holiday season, you will get good deals. I got mine flashed around 55000 miles and no problem. If you're around revo dealer, check them if they have free sps plus with ecu.

I agree, just get it done...you won't be disappointed. As said above, adding more output is going to prematurely wear several components. As you know, the two most common failures are the cam follower and the diverter valve. I'm running the APR Stage II+ 93 tune and I couldn't be happier. I replaced my cam follower at 56,xxx kms when I put the APR HPFP in, and it definitely had signs of wear. As for the diverter valve, I'm running the revision "D" OEM unit, no issues to date...holds boost fine. Even with a Stage I, its amazing how much the tune wakes the car up. Go for it and enjoy!

Makes the car completely different. I've had a couple issues but they are being tended to as we speak.

I say go for it. I had APR stage 1 on my GTI, and it was great. Had it for about 40k miles, before selling the car. About to do the same on my A4 tomorrow

Just about the same here. 95k miles on the clock, APR'd since 10k.
