This is something that would be awesome to have, I know you need memory seats and that does require a bit, as well as heated power mirrors.
All in all what is the cost and the time it would require as far as skill level?
I have searched alot on this but I unfortunately still do not get it.
Thanks
To be exact on what I want to do

I have power folding mirrors without memory seats, so you definitely don't need that.

I may have not been 100% clear.
I always park by reversing into my drive way and pretty much everywhere I park, I would love if the mirrors would go down automatically, I thought that needed memory seats? Or am I completely wrong here?

Yes you will need memory seats, for reverse tilt pass mirror.
^Disregard^
I stand corrected.

i have the reverse tilt no mem seats
Yeah, I think it is called "Dipping Mirror". Folding mirrors, as stated are folding in mirror housings. I think it was such a bad move to make dipping mirrors, and memory seats only available on the v6... I wish I had both. If you dont live in/near a major city, you might never miss it.

It's available on the 2.0...

I have a 2.0t and I live in Houston so it's super nice to have. A guy I worked with had them and he used them all the time.
So what's envolved with getting them added?

Before this thread becomes a massive cluster fuck of bad information, hopefully we can end on this:
1) They are called "tilting mirrors" (I guess you can call them "dipping mirrors" as well)
2) Folding mirrors imply something totally different; as in, when you park, you turn the mirror switch and the mirrors fold in.
3) Both tilting mirrors and memory seats are on two different packages (technology/convenience/lighting package depending on the year). So you could have memory seats and no tilting mirrors depending on the MY of the car. Doesn't have anything to do with 3.2 vs. 2.0.
4) Can it be retrofitted? Sure, if you throw enough money at it.
5) Has anyone done it? Not that I know of. Pretty expensive process for such a minimal return

Thanks for the information. It would be nice but if it's going to be really expensive then I think I can manually do it each time.
Actually if you look at the 2008 brochure... it was not available anymore without memory seats AND only available in the V6. This was also true of the parking system.
I am not giving bad information. It was dropped at some point. Prior years had different options.

Your passenger side mirror tilts down when you put it in reverse, with the control on that mirror... Please video tape it...

Can you retro fit actual folding mirrors? Mine are getting pretty dinged up at school, maybe if they folded in it wouldn't be such a problem.

Power folding mirrors can be done pretty easily from what I have read

They all fold in... Turn the knob that you use to adjust them all the way right and they should fold in....

They do not all fold it via motor, that is an option. If you car does not have a dot on the opposite side of the middle (180* from the middle position) then you don't have it. I've had loaners with out this option.

Wow thats surprising. I would that that to be standard on a 30k car. My pos jeep had it....

I agree... There are a few things I think should have been standard... Memory Seats, Tilting Mirror, Power Passenger Seats, Auto Dimming rear view mirror, and side view mirrors, Heated side view mirrors, Heated Seats... These all should have been standard in my eyes.

^ I have to agree, there were a lot of things that I found out that my audi did not have which I really expected to be included. I understand you pay more for more features, but i'm already paying alot.

That is just the start of the list, xenons should have also been standard, as should have been the trip computer.

I understand not including HID's as many others don't include that in the bottom of the line. But I 100% agree on the trip computer, actually, that should be the number 1 item out of the things I listed above... That's such a basic item I didn't even think about.
I however have all of these things but the memory seats and tilting mirrors (also missing wood shifter/steering wheel, and light washers, parking sensors)

True, I think it is just backwards that they went from all the headlights on the B6 being projector housings, to the halogen housings on the B7. Maybe I am simply annoyed that I don't have HID's!!

I hear you. I had to look around to find my CPO A4... I HAD to have navi and HID's, so I kept looking and paid more for it.
