I'm thinking abiut getting 235/40/18 tires for my 18x8 REs et35. The ride height is 24" front and 24.5" rear....att 4 wheels tuck a lil. I currently run with 225 up front, but the fenders are not rolled. I will be doing that next week. Just wondering is 235 will rub up front

Yes they will up front. I have my fenders shaved and the liners trimmed back and my front tires were tucked. They still rubbed on heavy bumps with my 19".

I guess I'll just sticj with 225 and roll the fenders and it rubbs the way it is right now

What about 18/40/235 with bilstein sport shocks and H&R race springs? With H&R sport springs?

Race will rub without rolling. At least that's what I've seen on most cars including mine.

So that implies that it won't rub with rolled fenders? This is good news [:)].

If rolled correctly you should have enough clearance.

EVIL, how much did that run you to get it rolled? I'm thinking 20-40 per side.

jones , do it your self...

jack up your car alittle and get a pole or bat...etc..whatever works but somethin with leverage... and push down forcing the fender up...ive also tried techniques of cutting the fender but it didnt work so well with me...and heating up the paint with a hair dryer will prevent paint chipping

paint chipping???you mean on the outside? The read the other posts about this but still wasn't clear.

paint could chip on the edge/corner of the fender where it is being bent, which would be barely visible...

yup jones...it could chip...mine chipped alittle but no biggie

Like I said there was no rolling. I said shaved. I had all the metal on the lip taken off the car totally.

so what do you mean by 'tucked'?

I'm running 235/40s on my 18x8.5s and they rub when pushed hard - daily driving won't do it though. I'm thinking about doing something to get some more clearance such as rolling. Especially if I want to go any lower later - currently I'm not all that low (26" all around, but with 235s that is a tight 2 finger gap).

When parked my tires were under the fender lip. That's tucking.

[rs4] I'm running 235/40 on my 18x8's with the stock sport suspension (haven't gotten around to installing the H&R CO yet) and I get the occasionally rub on the front.

It also must be said that different manufacturers sidewalls can change the overall height of the tire. Some more rounded, others more box shaped. This will affect how if it'll rub more or not.

exactly......24" from the ground to fender is pretty low

24 seems to be the right # to get them just about tucked.
