I hear this whistle type sound at around 2k rpms in any gear but if i come off the gas and it drops below 2 it stops. also if the revs are dropping and its passing, at exactly 2k you can hear it for a second until the rpms drop past 2.

also, this morning, on cold start up it took a lot longer than usual (like a good 6 seconds) for the car to turnover then immediately after it made a weird metal on metal sound, not a like a grind, but a high pitched metallic sound.

anything associated with a "whistle sound" is usually PCV valve. Any Check Engine Lights?

DV is forge relocated to cold side not that nor the alt etc etc
reason all head and cams were changed was cos i had a snapped cam so that had to be done anyway

Any resolution to this? I have the exact same thing. Upgraded to the "P" version of the PCV valve, and have the updated DV valve. Only happens when it's cold. Usually goes away when it's warmed up, but today it whistled even after warmup (outside temp sub-zero).

Perfect. Pls post the diagnosis, if you will.

Edit - Had mine in a couple of weeks ago for the same problem. Replaced the PCV with the most recent version. Problem came back with the colder weather.

Anyone resolve this issue? I started hearing the whistle sound today....first time ever and the coldest day of the year thus far (-15 C). I hope it's as simple as a bad PCV valve but was hoping to get some answers before going back to the dealer.
