Brake Question...HELP!

I just replaced my rotors and pads on my 06 A4 Quattro. However, now when I press the pedal it pressurizes fine, but when I let off for a few seconds then press again it just drops to the floor. I have to pump it several times to get it solid again. I've read around and hear a bunch of different people saying that you can do it without using a vag-com, I don't have one, but I hear people that say they need it. My car has ESP so I hear that I'm supposed to use the vag-come to pressurize the ABS pump. I'm at a loss as to what I need to do. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

did you remove the calipers for some reason, like actually remove teh caliper from the brake lines?

after you install the pads, it takes a few times of pressing to have the same force as before.
