not to sound rude, but would it matter? when you install the wheel i think it would be almost impossible to see those letters

if its paint pen, maybe some luke warm water and 3m green pad will scuff the paint enough to take it off eventually

Looks like silver Sharpie to me... I would NOT use any type of scuff pad on it.

1. Try an alcohol swab or rubbing alcohol and a paper towel. If that doesn't work, try the process below.

An old wipe-off board trick... READ the directions through first before attempting.
1. Buy a silver Sharpie with the all purpose tip (not the pen-point or big wedge).
2. Take the Sharpie and color over one of the numbers (like your scribbling it out).
3. IMMEDIATELY follow with a paper towel, dry or wet with alcohol. Use the alcohol towel if the surface is more porous to draw out the marking.

The theory is that the writing will come out due to the solvent from the newly applied marking. This DOES work on wipe-off boards and might work in this circumstance.

Best of luck,

Red

I think the confusion came when people started assuming UPS wrote on the wheel and your thread title was sarcastic.

It looks like you were happy to get the part - congrats!

so you're the one who beat me to the punch the last second. I only wanted it for the aluminum trim since that's a B8 wheel.

You will literally never see that. Don't even try to get it off since you may actually leave a visable mark while trying to get rid of it.

Nice pickup! I've actually been checking eBay for the last few days for the exact same item. [:D]

hehehe.....yea...sorry after I saw the guy who posted a thread about his new B8 wheel on his B7 I searched ebay and had been watching it for days.

I might sell it though, being unemployee and kept using up my savings it's not good. plus I still need to get the 3 spoke airbag(cant believe someone bought the one that cost $200) and we all know how much the 3 spoke airbag cost. not to mention I am not going to install the wheel myself (dont have the tools) taking it to a garage and gonna have the garage install it for me, thats gonna cost another few hundred. so I am going to keep it for around a month or so. if i still cant find a job I am going to sell the wheel.

If it was high value then it would require a signature.
